Did you know....

Just thinking about our trip last year and thought of something and wondered if anyone else knew this or knew of any other rides it is possible on.

While getting ready to ride Magnum last year my husband told me that at one point on the ride you could reach out of the train and hit one of the the support columns with your fingers, and that he used to do it all of the time when he was younger. It is at the point of the track where it curves right before going into the tunnel that takes your picture. During the ride I see him out of the corner of my eye reach his arm out and then there was a very loud pinging noise. We get to the end of the ride waiting for the train in front of us to be unloaded and I see my husband wincing in pain. His palm of his hand was a horrible shade of red. He wanted to show me that you could touch it like he told me and didnt realize he would hit it that hard! He didnt think about the fact that he has grown quite a bit from when he used to do it and his arm was longer. I was pissed because he could have really hurt himself. We did almost buy the ride photo because the of the guy behind us, it was priceless!!! He had his hand up to his mouth and huge eyes.

This is why the park has safety regulations and is often times very strict on their safety policies: People just do dumb things. I'm not saying your husband is a dumb person, but reaching your arm out to touch a metal beam going 60+ mph is kind of dumb

That is why I was pissed! All I could think about the rest of the afternoon was what could have happened, shattered hand, broken elbow, even if no injury getting kicked out of the park.... In his defense, if there is any, when he was a kid just his finger tips brushed it. Cant say that I would have necessarily thought about the fact that my arm was longer either.

"Please keep your hands and arms inside the train at all times."

I hit a support on MF once. Won't make that mistake again.

I am surprised your husband didn't break anything. Not the smartest thing to do, but hey we all do dumb things at some point or another.

Probably on the first overbank. You can tell where they cut a chunk out of one of the support beams up there because you could hit it.
