In Today's (Sunday October 30th, 2011) issue of the register there is a special 16 page tribute to Dick Kinzel. It includes thank you notes to him, articles about his legacy including one pointing out the "coaster wars", and a special article about his wifes involvement.
I suspect the Register will eventually make it available online. If they do, we'll post a link.
Ok, thanks. Sounds like it was an insert and if so then that explains why I could not find on the Sandusky site.
I was hoping to see this. Got a paper at the hotel on Sunday, but it was missing the special section.
Heh, when I first read the title, I thought prices went up in the cash registers around the park for closing weekend...ala a "Dick Kinzel Special"...

Same here.
Girl: "l want to ride that yellow one again... Twisted Wicker"
Me: "It's a roller coaster, not a broken clothes hamper."
I subscribed to the e-paper today to get a copy of the paper, but Dick Kinzel's section is nowhere to be seen.

I already subscribe. Should have asked me first - I could have saved you some money. :)
I was in Sandusky on Sunday for closing weekend and also picked up a copy of the Register for this tribute. It took me a few passes through the paper to find the insert. It was buried in all the Sunday ads. Look again. Another option is to call the Register and ask if they can mail you a copy of Sunday's paper, assuming of course that they have extras. Most newspapers keep back issues for some period of time. In years past, I've been able to get issues that I knew had articles about Cedar Point by calling. Of course, they didn't do this for free. I haven't had a chance yet to read the articles, but there's a great pic of Millennium Force on the insert's cover.

Can you scan and post it?
For copyright reasons, we'd ask that you not do that.
The Register says that copies are available for purchase by calling (800) 466-1243. I don't know the cost, but I can't imagine it's very much.
