Desperado Stunt

Has Anybody seen this? Lance Burton probably shouldn't mess with Desperado again... or any other coaster for that matter.

Yeah...ummm...that was really, really, really stupid.

Three things you need to fix anything in the universe: duct tape, WD-40, and a hammer. Duct tape if it moves and it shouldn't, WD-40 if it doesn't move and should, and the hammer as the last resort.

I believe it has been debunked as fake and/or very good video editing.

Wouldn't be surprised if it's fake, all they'd have to do is take video of the train going by, then stop the trains, and have Lance do his escape thing with the camera in the same position, and edit the two shots together.

Even if it is fake it would be a rather stupid stunt to try, considering the velocity/speed of the train can vary making it hard to get even a close estimate as to how long he would need.

It appears there was a mid course break run not far from where he was chained. I'm sure he was all unlocked and ready to jump away before they ever let the train pass the break run. Then it was just a matter of jumping at the last second.

And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun

I can't imagine a park that would let this go on. Never mind, I guess I can...but it wouldn't be CF.

Ya, I saw this on TV a couple of years ago and it is even worse now then it was back then.

^^ Yes, those were some of the things people said when I saw this before. They also took a good look at his leap clear and noticed that the train seemed to cut his foot, but his foot didn't react to that at all.

Lance Burton shows this video at the beginning of his Vegas show (which is otherwise quite entertaining).

I can't help but wonder what the effect would be of the impact of a multi-ton roller coaster going at 65MPH on both the body and the roller coaster itself. Independently of the huge liability issues, I wonder what the mechanical damage and repair costs would be.

Good Movie......;)

Look at the very end, when they do the two different views in slow-mo replays. When they show the closer side-view, watch his shadow. Keep an eye on the shadow of his legs. As soon as the train passes by, his shadow disappears. It's obviously fake.

Few things...

I thought Lance was famous for magic. That was not magic. Had he gotten out without a key or pulled one from a place without his mouth, well that would have been a lot cooler.

Does anyone else think it would have been mildly amusing to see him drop the key or am i just a sick twisted freak?

And yeah, the foot thing was rather close. Makes ya wonder since it was mere nano-seconds between him and the train when he jumped.

"Ive got the need, the need for speed!"

It's not cutting his foot, but it's sooooo close. From the angle it looks like it is but that's just the train since it's on a curve, it blocks the view of his foot, making it look like it hit it.

The bodies on the trains are also slightly wider than the track, so his foot looks to be underneath the the train body but clear of the track.
