has anyone purchased the demon drop yet? its still there standing, i thought it would have been removed by now.
It has not been sold and all signs point to it being at Cedar Point for the 2006 season.
Yay, then I get a chance to ride it! I won't let it go, this time. Screw my fear of elevators and such. Maybe I'll even hit Power Tower, too!
Okay, bit too excited there. But I'll ride it now.

Not only hasn't Demon Drop sold yet, but Mr. Hyde's Nasty Fall didn't sell either. It was dismanteled a few weeks ago and it's parts will be used to maintain the Demon Drop. I could be wrong, but I belive Lexi Robinson said at Eastcoaster that parts had already been shipped to Cedar Point.

SFMM has one still and is supposed to be running this coming season, or else.
June 11th, 2001 - Gemini 100
VertiGo Rides - 82
R.I.P. Fright Zone, and Cyrus along with it.
SFMM has a list of rides that have been unoperational for quite a few years and with the recent management changes, they have promised to open the rides again. Freefall was included in this which is just like DD and that's where Rob was going with that. I think.

Demon Drop has a team leader and assistant team leader. At this time I don't they will be able to sell it on short notice. If it does get sold, it will probably be shipped after the 2006 season.

Sweet! I love Demon Drop. I'll have to ride it this time when I go in May. However, when it does go, I'll miss seeing it on my way into the park.

Demon Drop's not going anywhere, don't worry. I've been told DD's recieving parts from Mr Hyde at Geagua... It's going to be better than ever this year. CP has the best of the 3 Intamin Freefalls left, and the only one in the Northwest. Our maintenance guys have her figured out. She's a tough cookie, but if she holds up as well as last year, she could still be around for a while.
I wouldn't look for the sale of Demon anytime soon. Although with the imminent change of CEOs.... who knows. Personally, I'll be crushed to see her go.... but she sure does create some good publicity. The leaking of the proposed sale brought quite a few people to the park. I had many MANY people tell me stories of their first ride... even some of the original crew.
DD's been good to me, and she will be for at least one more year.
The idea of DD being sold last year made me go on the ride a few times on my last trip. I really forgot how much I love the ride. I'm one for the quick thrill that gets your adrenaline going. (TTD is my favorite for that reason) The ride has become a classic, even the sound of the cars falling down the tower has become something I remember so vividly in my mind when walking into the main gate each summer. I know each ride has to go sometime, but DD going now just doesn't feel right. 2006 will see some DD marathons for sure.

Ahh.... repeat riders... joy. Kidding. I love talking to people over and over again. Demon ride hosts get to know the guests better than any other ride in the park. I believe the record for most rides in one day was 37. And that person didn't start riding until after 7 during a 10pm close. I'd love to see someone get to 50. lol Season pass holders, gotta love 'em.
and Drew..... the race is SO on it's not even funny! You need to change your signature. You're actually hired now ;)
