I have a two-sided brochure that was from either 1982 or 1983 that has a picture of the Demon Drop on it and it reads "Ride DEMON'S DROP NEW! For 1983"
and the other side reads "...and, new for 1983: Demon's drop
After it carries you 131 feet above The Amazement Park, Cedar Point's new Demon's Drop will send you plummeting freely back to Earth. There's no faster way down!"
Actually, if you look here on the old Virtual Midway History page with the 1983 brochure, it says "Demon Drop." There is no "s" at the end.

There is also a good archive at this link.

You can see the entire Demon Drop print ad in the 1983 park brochure.

i have the brochure from just before the 1983 season, it says demons drop. it says on the back.."cedar points new demons drop will send you plummeting freely back to earth. There's no faster way down."
"And notice the admission price $11.95, that must have been nice."
Yeah well, it's called "inflation". ;)
CedarPtRage, why don't you double check that brochure? Maybe scan it, and post it. *** Edited 1/2/2005 3:33:21 AM UTC by 1870***

I've been looking everywhere at park brochures from 1982-present and I have never seen Demon Drop being referred to as "Demons Drop"
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

tcanyon87, is it this brochure? because on the third last page it says "Cedar Point's new Demon Drop will send you plummeting freely back to Earth. There's no faster way down!" hmm, sounds kind of like what you said except with Demon Drop, and I have proof, look at the one third from the end: http://www.schmidty.com/brochures/cv1983.asp

nope not that one, dont remember where i got this one at, have a lot of brochures from the late 70's and 80;s though
Geez. Maybe it was just an error or miscommunication between the park and the printer of that particular brochure. Kind of like the way they say "Wall-Marts", "Kay-Marts", --- "Demons Drop" ?
I'm the oldest one here. CP emp '73-'74
The brochures might of said Demon's Drop, but I think I'd go by what's pictured here.
