I understand why there are only 5 (are there five?) cars on Demon Drop. When the others were removed, why didn't CP just re-number the cars instead of having them number similarly to 1,2,3,4,6,7?

I always thought there were originally 7, and now 6 running, numbered 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6
I'm not sure how many there are/were. I do know that one number is missing though. I think it's 5, not totally sure though.

Because of the change in operation, where there is not a car in the shaft until the one ahead has dropped (I think... correct me Dave), there is one less block, and that means one less car.

Sorry, Jeff, you're on your own for that one; I never studied it that close.

Easy trivia: Why is there a warning label on the back of the Demon Drop car?
First of there are six Demon Drop cars, and theya re numbered right, 1-6. Second there used to be 8 cars, 2 of which are in the boneyard, or were in the boneyard, I'm not sure where they are now. They switched to 6 for a cuple of reasons. #1 safety, when they had a shutdown they had 2 cars at the top of the tower at the same time with one siting in the bottom of the tower, and incase the car in the tower fell it would have hit the car waiting o go up. Also they got a new computer system many years ago and they blocked itto accomidate only 6 cars. The blocks are now Main Lift, Horizontal, Freefall, Reverse brake, and slope lift.
"Easy trivia: Why is there a warning label on the back of the Demon Drop car?"
Seeing as I've been on Demon Drop only once, this is sheer guesswork... but I'd imagine because the back is face-down when the car is on the brake run. Just look up, and there you go.
But again, just guessing. What's the warning say, anyway?

Actually it is ok to touch the back of the cars except for the middle break fin, that is the fin that slows the cars down in the brake run. On a really hot day after the ride has been running for a while if you put water on them they will make a loud sizzling sound and steam up. If you touch it it will burn off your finger prints.
Isn't there a car 9 in the boneyard? Or was?
No there was never a car 9, they only used to have 8
Is it possible to have a car at the top of the tower, on the drop shaft, and another car at the top, still in the lift shaft at the same time?
I have heard of it only happening once, kinda of a fluke since they switched to 6 cars, but when they had 8 it did happen.
