Defaulted on a season pass in the past

I had a season pass on payment plan a few years ago and due to medical illness we defaulted on payment and passes got cancelled. This year we want to get passes but saw that it says it will apply payment to past due balance first by agreement. Has anyone else successfully gotten a new pass or has had to repay old pass first?

That's why payment plans are a rip off! My dad always said pay the whole thing at once cause they will charge you interest!! Mine is renewed every year as a Christmas present!!

I just want to make sure I'm understanding this correctly. You defaulted on a pass payment plan, previously, and now you're asking us if there's a way you can circumvent the system to avoid paying for the one you used but didn't pay for?

How many times did you visit the park with your old pass that you defaulted on?

I paid 3 months of it and went once. It was cancelled as soon as I missed a payment.

I think the argument here is that, since you used it once, you're obligated to pay it in full. Since it's handled by Accesso, I'd imagine you'd have to talk to them and see what your options are.

Either way, you're going to have to pay it - but maybe they'll tack it on in monthly amounts and spread it across your new pass - I have no way of knowing, but you could always ask them directly.

I'd probably try going to the park and just try buying them there at the window and see what happens. If they tell you the same thing, then you're probably screwed. If it's going to be a huge deal to you financially to to just pay for it, then I'd probably suggest prioritizing and skipping the season passes. I love CP as much as anyone, but if I was barely scraping by, I'd have a hard time justifying the purchase.

I wondered the same thing, not to say that I did this but I am curious as I know someone that did and is planning on purchasing again but with a different credit card.

You should just call Cedar Point and ask them about it. If your pass was simply cancelled and the balance due did not go to collections then I would be surprised if they didn't consider the issue closed. The only way to know for sure would be to call them, but I highly doubt they would not take your money now for a new pass.

If it was my park, I'd collect the past due from the defaulted agreement then no longer offer that customer a payment plan on any subsequent passes. Cash on the barrel head.
