Dan Feicht out from behind the camera...

For some unknown reason I came up with this thought today...

What does Dan Feicht do when he isn't behind the camera? I know that he can be pretty busy when there is a ride to cover, and he probably takes the occasional lively picture during the summer for the promo brochures, but what is his job outside of this? Is he a bigwig in the marketing department?

...and the most anticipated event of summer 2003 is...

The Matrix: Reloaded!

I think he spends alot of time organizing and cataloging his photos, as well as responding to requests for photos from within the park.

Sorry for this, but who is Dan Feicht?

That's okay, not everyone is familar with names of full time staff around here. Dan Feicht is basically the head photographer for Cedar Point. Nearly every single picture Cedar Point uses was taken by him. He is a full time employee of Cedar Point, and is responsible for Cedar Point's massive collection of photos.

Dan is the "Director of Visual Communications" for Cedar Point, assuming his title has not changed in the past few years. That makes him the chief photographer, videographer, video editor, photo archivist, and I think I've caught him doing basic A/V stuff as well (setting up microphones for CoasterMania presentations and the like).

I don't know if he designed the special camera mounts used on the coasters or not. I know the Millennium Force mount is a really nice one; I wonder if it will also work on Dragster...:)

I know he's got a job I wouldn't mind having... :)

In my opinion, he has got the best job at Cedar Point.
Actually to me, the best job at Cedar Point would have to be a PR person. Imagine getting paid for talking and promoting the best place on earth! If not PR, then the person that sits at that desk in the marketing office (thats right Sandy I still want that desk!! ;))
If not that job, then a Raptor ride operator......hey wait a minute-I've done that!! :)

Dave-I know Dan designed the camera mount for the still shots on WT during Media Day last year because he mentioned he did. As for the other camera mounts I would imagine so as well.

They certainly have loads of pictures that Mr. Feicht has taken. I've seen their archive CD collection, and there are lots of them. Each CD is for a different ride, and is full of pictures. It would be impressive to look through all the pics on one of those CD's.
