Cutting Supports

While in line for Mean Streak on Oct 5 about 3:00, the line actually went into the large que area, I noticed some people by the warehouse that's behind the old DJ booth. I saw Gemini cars and Thunder Canyon pumps, but then I saw something really strange. There were two workers marking lines on one of the new gray supports. Then the one the guys grabbed a cutting torch and started cutting the support. There was another support on the ground that had one of its ends cut off. It's kinda of wierd that they would be cutting apart supports for the new ride. I didn't have a camera with me, so I don't have any pics. Not sure if anyone else saw this.
why would they be cutting supports?

The footer was probably poured to tall.

So what are they goinna do, re-weld the connectors? Don't you think the smart thing to do would be to ship over a new support?

OMG! The Space Spiral is leaning!!" Must be the weight of that new air conditioning system everyone keeps hypothesizing about...

remember the plates that were seen next to the supports and track in the parking lot? I belive they are replacement track joints if a problem like this was to arise.
It's possible that they are having the same issues that they had with MF. Some of the supports the bolt patterns didn't line up. Supposedly S:UE at WoA had the same problems.

That's just a guess. It could be something entirely different.

Mistakes are always possible, but when the project is in the millions of dollars, you'd better be able to cover them up. :)

I didn't post the photo, but presumably said supports are sitting in the Soak City lot now. Just looks like they made some minor adjustments to the angle at which the track will be connected.

Some adjustments are always needed on projects like this. I remember standing there watching steelworkers with the cutters while installing Phantom's Revenge, with the park rep showing us around saying "Yeah, we need to make a few tweaks to get the pieces to fit on-site, happens all the time'
