Crowded in September?

Because of previous posts indicating that July and August are typically the busiest at the park, my family and I are planning to go in September--either Sunday the 2nd (Labor Day Weekend) or Sunday the 9th. However, I'm a little concerned that since the park is only open on weekends in September that it will be miserably crowded. (The way I see it, there are only 2-3 days per week--versus 7 days in July/August--for everyone to go. Additionally, since many park employees inevitably have to go back to school, I would think there would be fewer employees to work the rides.) I realize their are a lot of variables that determine how busy Cedar Point will be on any given day, but does anyone have comments, based on their previous experiences, on the crowds in September versus the crowds in July and August.
September is quite a bit less crowded than July/August.

Weekends in September, for the most part, are not crowded at all!  The summer is over, and therefore most people think that CP is closed.  Definitely plan to go on a weekend in September, you'll find very short lines, plus the tickets are discounted (Bonus Weekends).  Just remember that it can get very cold very quickly... but you should be fine.

I think the crowd in Sept. and Oct. is very unpredictable. If the weather is good you can get a very big crowd, as happened on closing weekend a couple of years ago. In general, I think it is less crowded than peak season, but don't set your expectations for an empty park too high, or you may be disappointed.
oh thanks....    :-(

Oh well, flights booked, make the best i spose...

You can go to www.weather.com and www.intellicast.com for the weather forecasts. I find that more than one site for information is the best in getting a better idea of what to expect.
