Crowded Days

My last CP trip was the last weekend in August when it closed at midnight and I thought the park was very crowded. For example we got to the park around 9:50 and there already was an hour and 10minute wait for the raptor. Just want to see if anyone else experience busy days like that at CP, but Im sure we all have.

Just a comment here, but Raptor's line is usually the first to fill up. I'm not saying the park wasn't crowded that day because I worked there and most of the days when we closed at midnight were kaka. I wouldn't, however, judge how crowded the park is by the line for Raptor in the morning. It's the first thing people see when coming in the main gate, so it's the first thing they get in line for. My suggestion is go to the middle or back of the park and ride Magnum or Mean Streak first, that way avoid the crowds. My best friend and I always work from the back to the front of the park, coming in the Challenge Park/Resorts gate by the Magnum. Just my suggestion tho.

No, it was crowded...We were inside the park at 9:50...we had to go through a full queue plus the one outside of the Raptor. I knew that was a good indication from that point on it would be crowded. Another point I didnt bring up was we waited 45minutes for the corkscrew...

Yeah I agree because I was there that day. I got to the park at like noon and it was packed. The longest wait I had that day was for magnum at night when the Summer Spectacular was going on. I think we ended up waiting like 1 hour 45 mins for it. They had the extra queue lines behind the bathrooms open. Also I remember the line for Disaster Transport being silly long that day. So even though the park was open till midnite to get more rides in it seemed about even due to the amount of people in the park and the long lines.

I was there the last day and it was somewhat crowded. I did get the last ride to the public on Raptor for the 99 season though before closing time (i know who I want to take me home)

I was there closing day of '99. Wasn't a bad crowd at all. I don't think the crowds get much lighter than that.

Personally, I think it's a bit silly to go to CP on any summer weekend and not expect massive lines. I avoid it in the months of July and August. If you must go those months, I would only go mid-week (Tues-Thurs). Once again, however, this is just my opinion. I only get there 3-4 times a year, so there are people on this board that know better than I.

Honestly on closing day this past year I couldn't tell if it was crowded. It was probably one of the best days I had all year. I had 45 laps on Magnum, broke 800, got to ride it once with my girlfriend, and took pictures of the Magnum crew. I always love closing day, its always the end of a busy season and the break is nice. The saddest part of closing day (atleast for me) is that I make great friends in the park that I may never see again.
