Criticism on people who like cedarpoint and roller

Every year i have projects and i choose to do cedarpoint or rollercoasters.And it always seems that people watch me do the same thing every year and research the rollercoasters.The kids at school always say Cedar Point is so stupid and that is all you think about!! Well My dream is to be a rollercoaster designer and hopefully design one for cedar point in years to come. My latest creations are on Autocad {computer Aided Design} So no matter what people say to you to hurt your feelings block it out because we know that Cedar Point Is 1 of the best

Yeah, I try not to mention it around people all that much at school anymore unless it is a speech or report. I too want to because a roller coaster designer one day. I have the grades for it (now at least) and my ultimate dream is to have one of my creations be built at Cedar Point.

Everyone has passions in life that others won't understand. I love coasters, but to me, they are much more than just fun rides -- they have personality, character, history, and more. I'm sure we all have pet peeves that we don't understand how someone can be so enthusiastic about it. I know I wonder how anyone can be so into sports that they have memorized stats and lineups and all of that -- but hey, to each his own. I love coasters, and all of us are here for the same reason, we love coasters or Cedar Point, or both. If people get on your nerves about it, just roll your eyes and remember that they probably have things like that that you wouldn't understand.

As to being a coaster designer, cheers! I'd love to, but math is FAR from my strong point for the engineering. I'll stick to riding and writing books about them, thank you! *Smile*

Same problem here. I too, want to be a coaster designer. Though people except me liking Cedar Point and all, but sometimes some people think I am crazy. My Mom's boss says I should get a new hobby but, I have focused on my dream and intend to keep it up. No one can change that!

I really don't have that problem. I thought I would until one day I mentioned some stuff about Cedar Point (That CP would be getting MF), and everybody was like "really" "how did you know that" etc. I then started telling more people about it, andnot one person made fun of me or gave me a weird look. Now, when anybody wants to know about a new coaster, or about a park they come to me. I have also told people that I would like to design roller coasters for a living, and they have all said "that would be a cool job" and "That would be fun."

I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.

I live with the criticism every day in my life. I've been used to it for the last five years now.

I try to pick my times to talk about it. Take today as an example. This girl was asking the people around her if they had ridden Millennium Force. I said I had 8 times and that it is awesome. After no response that indicated interest in ANYBODY, I shut up. Just pick your times to use your extensive knowledge of CP and things are much easier!!

Yeah some people are just haters. I do the same thing, but I hang around people who have a passion, like my friend likes cars. So its no big deal. If they say Cedar Point is stupid just say

"We got a hater in the house if you see em point em out"

well some people have hobbies.mine just happens to be cedar point and all rollercoasters.i sometimes get teased by my family about it,but it doesent bother me.im not going to give up one of my favorate things in life just to please others.

Yeah, I have the same problem too. It seems like kids in high school just don't understand anything unless they like it. This may just be in my school, but the football players can't get a grip on anything that isn't directly related to football. Oh well, that's their problem. When people make fun of me about wanting to design coasters, I just blow them off. I'm going to do what I want to do, and they just have to face it!

Sports, lowering cars, fishing, bodybuilding, whatever. I can now see just how PASSIONATE people can be about a specific topic!! (thanks to my new found passion in coasters) To each their own!!

BTW, I loved my one and only trip to CP so much, I cannot express it in words. I can't wait to return!!!

I too have this problem. I am constantly teased for my knowledge of CP. I try not to discus my love with people who don't care but the people who do they know me and frequently tell me to shut up for my rambling :)

well at least we "freaks" can relate to one another and can talk about our favorite subject here..I too have my neighsayers but I figure to heck with them...We all have our fetishes and passions in life...I just have 3 of them..CP, MSU, and Halloween..I'm in heaven right now with all 3 at once!!!
