Crash! Bang! Boom!

I think that was what it was called, but anyways, I loved that show, being a drummer, and does anyone know if it will be before the IMAX again this year?

Crady Crady!! CRADY CRADY!!
Geez, there sure are a lot of drummers on here! I know I am one myself :) Maybe there's a connection to CP and to being a drummer! hmmm, possible research!

BTW I saw that show, it was very good indeed :)

Yes it will be there again this year.. As usual, CP has changed the name of the show as they do every year.. this year it will be called Slam Dunk (MJ theme but still a percussion thing).

As I last heard I believe 2 of the guys from last year are coming back and maybe both the girls.

MF 2001 - ???????
This summer I think the Live Entertainment Department will have two drum shows. Slaw Dunk(near the cinema showcase) and Heat of the Beat(near the raptor plaza). Heat of the Beat features the steel drum I think, while Slam Dunk features a bunch of drummers and dancers.
Correct....

I still miss the band that used to stroll up and down the midway..

I am a guitarist myself, but still love CP just as much :-)

One of the bands I was in had a drummer from the old Hobo band that strolled up & down the midway. We were roomies, he was one of the most technically sound drummer I have ever heard. But he used to talk all the time about playing in that hobo band and how much he enjoyed it and the interaction with the people.....
Well I'm glad they're still having it. And speaking of drumming, I just got back from High School drumline tryouts!

I should know within a week at least. I tried out for quads, but I'm only a freshmen so I'm hoping/expecting to be on snare.

Yeah I did, me and my best friend made snare, go Bulldogs!

Awesome man! This was my second year on snare, I'm a real small school, so I've been on drumline for three years. Bass for the first and snare for the last two. I should be able to hold snare until my senior year, but that's three long years away, hahaha.

If you think about it, the sound of Gemini's rollbacks sound a lot like a metronome ready to tick off a tempo for a great song, no? :)

On topic, I didn't really like the whole show, must be because I watched Stomp about 5 times, but it's a good show for the GP, and something different.

Off topic, I hope you kick*****at snare. I played quads my first year and snare the next 3 and I don't know if you guys do winter percussion, but it's something your school should look into if you want some hardcore drumming going on after the fall band thing. Remember to practice your rudiments all the time on a pillow or something soft that doesn't bounce easily so you'll use your fingers more than the bounce of the head. Good luck.

Frankly my dear, I don't give a flam...
Well, I have played for almost 6 years now, and I do practice on a pillow for bounce control. Glad to see I am not the only one!

The show was pretty cool, like I said before, but sometimes banging on steel isn't all that great enough to fill a whole show, it would be really cool if they had two drummers duel on trap sets for a half hour, I would pay money to see that!

The IMAX this year is Air Jordan.

Live for FUN!

GO SHAMROCKS!
GO WOLVERINES!
Freshmen usually get cymbals or bass drum, mainly because the drumline is so big (30 people). I was hoping to play snare because I had been practicing at home with the quads. The best part about it at our school is that at the end of the 3rd quarter of the football games they do a cadence, which I've picked up a bit. Even though I play trombone in normal band, I have always loved drums. Any other musicians in here, all insturments?

Lets see, for concert band I play french horn (wanted to play trumpet but my teacher thought I was too good), I march mellophone, and I play xylophone/marimba for winter drumline. I use to want to play tenors (quads) in winter drumline but our line is very good and I'd be lucky to even make snare. Our staff has said that they were amazed how fast and good I have learned how to play keyboard, so I doubt they'd want me in battery. I'm going to be a senior next year so I don't really want to switch from the same thing I've been doing for the last 3 years and I don't really want to be in battery anymore anyway. Do any of you guys participate in WGI for winter drumline or go to any BOA regionals or nationals for marching band?

uhh the crash bang boom thing sounds cool
(at least that part is on topic :))

I'm not a drummer but I do know how to tell when a drummer is knocking on your door...nevermind

A bad day at CP is better than a good day at work.

I did WGI back when I was in HS. We got 2nd my senior year in Open Class at WGI World Finals in Arizona with our Interview with the Vampire show. It was great.
