Cranes

This question may have already been asked/answered in previous posts, but I'm not about to try and read everything, so I apologize for my stupidity. But how tall do those cranes stand fully erected?

Currently with main boom and luffer in place, they can reach about 360'. However, these units can accept another piece, called a jib, which could extend the reach to 520'. Although the lifting capacity is diminished as they reach higher, it is still more than sufficient to handle the pieces and assemblies for the top. I would look for a smaller jib to be brought out to the site after they complete this section of the tower.

I saw somthing like those jibs you discribed at the site on the last day!!!

Is it just me or did those cranse grow last night! They seem to be higher than they were yesterday. Also has anybody seen any pictures from off of the peninsula this week! I saw some last week but nobody has posted any links like that this week, u know updated ones!

Bryan - I think you're right. And they turned off the demondrop and powertower cams so we couldn't see what they were doing!!! Dang em all!!! LOL

Must be interesting trying to operate that crane, especially with a person hanging from the end of it!

all the cams are now up. it is almost pitch black, but i could make out the two cranes, now appearing fully erected, working on the top.

The Only Web Cam that is almost pitch black is the What's This? Cam.

The crane is taller than yesterday.

Good source suggests that crane will top out at 460'. One for workers, one for the piece.

Why is the crain not all the way down?
