Actually I should have stated this earlier, but if we run one train from 10 to 10 and the other from Noon to 8, we go through somewhere around a ton of coal a day.And my arms still remember every scoop full that I bailed into Jennie K's firebox.
Jennie was easy to fire back in 1982. 22 would burn through an entire tender of coal during the day due to the timing being off. Doing buckets at the end of the night was a real pain - especially on dance night.

Love the RailRoad at the point, love that smell from the ties and the coal and I am not joking about that. I hope the train runs for many more years. As campy as Boneville is, I still enjoy riding past even hearing the skeltons crew singing working on the rail road.
Shoot the rapids, tame and dry. Thunder Canyon, wet and laughter. Snake River Falls, soaked and smiling. White Water Landing and the old shoot the rapids, Fun and missed.
I love that smell too Matt. Some of those nights in October is the best time to smell it. Any time you see the fog effects really settling low on the Frontier Trail go stand by Albert. When the train passes, man I wish I could bottle that smell. There is just something about that smell that relaxes me. Maybe its just the old timey feel. A reminder of simpler times.
Just your usual come and go poster. One week I am here, then I disappear for a while.
I agree that Jennie K was the easist to fire, one of the reasons she was
my favorite. She is just a classy little mill.
I love the railroad to, the smell that it leaves when your at the crossing gates, as it goes by. As many times as I've been I've never seen two trains running, but last Oct on a Sunday I saw both Al and George R, and I've seen Judy K. I think it's funny when people don't listen and they start getting off the train, when it stops and starts to roll back, I guess there in a rush or something?
I even put some clips of CPLE railroad in my theme park trains video on youtube

If saw you Albert it was of him sitting on the trail because of reasons I mentioned earlier. The Sunday you mentioned was the day before Columbus Day and we were running two trains George had the green train and I believe Myron(22) had the other. The shot of George in your vid was from that weekend because I am running Geogre and thats the only week that I was there and we had George out.

My mistake I believe it was Myron I saw that day. Yeah that Sunday before Columbus day it was very busy.

It's too bad the line was shortened to make room for the 1970 "Million Dollar Midway" expansion. Do you suppose the park could've maintained the then existing length by modifying it by today's current layout? Just picture the Funway Station still in its original location, but with the same loop the line has today only longer. Of course by the time Iron Dragon came around, the rail road would've been modified to what it is today.
Yes it would be nice to still have the original loop and the crossing on the trail. I think Iron Dragon could have been built exactly were it is and not have affected the railroad. Remember were the line comes in behind Red Garter and along Mantis is not the original location of the right-of-way. The railroad scene is were the old main left the current alingment. It continued roughly to were Cedar Junction is(has been moved slightly), then crossed the Trail (Trail not there in early years), then met the outbound mainline and contiuned in a relativly striaght shot to turn right into the depot. Of course this was after the line was moved from one side of the shop to the other to allow for the building of Premeiter Rd and the elimination of two bad S-curves.

We have old photos that show the line on the south side of the then on the north side of the shop before it was shortened by I dont believe they have been scanned yet. But here is a drawing based on those photos using a current ariel photo.

However, I Max, Dodgem, Wildcat, Coasters, and possibly the screen would have to be in different locations.

Just a question of curiosity does anyone have any old overview pictures of the past train paths before Millie went in.
Yes we do! cp&le rr guy and myself have two scrapbooks of photos that go all the back to when the railroad open in 1963. As I mentioned earlier they have not been scanned and upload yet. They are part of a series and havent been gotten to yet.

Looking forward to seeing them CPLE Engineer! I've visited your site several times in the past and it's looking great!

We should move this over to cplerr.com. What do you guys think? Not much activity over there lately.
