John (cp&le rr guy) has developed a new web site dedicated to the CP&LE. There's lots of great stuff in there and it's well worth checking out.

Very nice cp&le rr guy. I visted your site a couple times before and it is really cool. The rail road is one of the greatest treasures of CP. I love this pic: http://us.a1.yahoofs.com/users/436bc55czd7b2864e/75cb/__sr_/b411re2.jpg?ph41S6DB2Kmjz3em

Many people today claim that Giant Wheel is located in a better area of the park. However, I still miss that outstanding view of the Funway Station with Giant Wheel in the background, and without the nasty laser screen in the front.

I just want to take a sec and thank John for setting this up! The Railroad has always been my most favorite ride at the point as it is the most memorable ride from my early years. I love thrill rides and roller coasters, but I definately make it a point to ride the train every visit there.

I would really enjoy a engine house tour, perhaps someone could email Tyler and Tony about setting something like that up?

I would like to see T&T do a "Week out on the CP&LE Railroad" week or something along those lines this summer. :)

Question about the "historic photos..."

I think it's #5 or #6 but the 1982 Myron H. picture w/ the caption "the flags and ghost are both add ins. They never were on the engine."

...does that mean YOU added them into the picture, or are you just saying that the photo included images that weren't actually part of the train?

Just wondering, because of the ghost logo that we've seen elsewhere...

I thought that "ghost" looked eerily like the Kennywood Phantom. I guess I'm not the only one.

That picture with the ghost was used in the first HalloWeekends brochure.

You can sometimes find one of these downtown at one of the antique shops. I have a few that I found a couple of years ago.

???

No...it is the logo from Dorney Park's Steel Force.

Right?

JuggaLotus's avatar

That's the one I was thinking of. The lost "Banshee" logo.
