What was the original layout of the rail bed, vs what we have now? I do remember that the station that is just south of the MF tunnel being a stop. Does anyone have maps...info...etc? I have been very curious in the past 12 years since the layout was slightly altered for MF construction.

That would be the locomotive that they traded "Maud L" to Disneyland for. It was sent to Knotts a few years back for some tweeking, then returned to Cedar Point. It was further worked on and converted back to a tender locomotive (it burns coal once again). It was put into service on a limited basis late last season. It was originally built by the Davenport Locomotive Works of Davenport Iowa. It was rebuilt into a Forney type tank locomotive by Keystone Light Railways for Marriotts Great America. It never saw service at the Chicago park, and has been in the hands of a couple of collectors, traded to Disneyland in exchange for the original set of coaches from the Disneyland RR. It proved to be too large for Disneyland, and it was sent to WDW, which didn't want it. It was christened the "Ward Kimball" while there in honor of the veteran animator/rail enthusiast. It was from there the trade with Cedar Point originated, as the Anaheim park was looking for fifth locomotive to put in the rotation, and "Maud L" was out of service by that time needing an extensive overhaul. If you want more scuttlebut about this locomotive there is more on the CP&LE RR site.
Rode the train yesterday. A train was leaving the Millennium station as we approached the area. We we're then pleasantly surprised to see them running 2 trains. The crowds definitely merited it. Anyway, didn't notice which train we were riding when we got on. But, as we left the station, I saw Myron sitting off to the left. We then began to ponder which we were riding. The whistle blew and it didn't sound quite right. We though maybe George, which is pretty rare. I think they only run George a few times a year. After getting to Frontiertown, we got off and saw we were riding the train with no name. :-)

Judy was running. It's Jenny that's gone.

The engine with no name is the Davenport that Dutchman was talking about. Right now, the CP & LE Railroad is running two train daily operation. Typically two trains run from noon to eight, although last Saturday, two trains ran from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. And, Jason is right, Jennie has been out at Knott's Berry Farm waiting for refurbishment. It was sent there three years ago. But, now with three operating engines and George as an operating spare, Cedar Point is in no hurry to spend the money on Jennie, which is a shame as Jennie was probably the most beautiful engine in the stable.

The route has been relocated 4 times since the railroad opened in 1963. The original out-bound and in-bound mainlines were between the Engine House and Cedars. They were moved to the other side when the road was built around the park. The Main Midway station used to be roughly where Dodgems is but was moved to the current spot with the extension of the midway. This eliminated the two tracks passing each other. Cedar Junction used to part of the mainline but when the depot was moved the line was also moved out to the current location along Mantis. The line was moved over for Millienium and Maverick. Also the passing siding at main has been removed, there used to be a siding in Frontier, and all the old main line and cross over have been removed. Frontier did not have a station when the railroad opened because Frontier wasn't there yet.
