CP with non Coaster fans?

I have been a "behind the scenes" GTTP member for quite some time now, and have finally decided to come out and start posting regularly! And for my first post(drum roll please....) I was wondering if anyone had any idea how to convince my parents, who are not roller coaster riders(my mom hates heights and my dad has a bad back)to take us on a family trip to CP. My brother loves roller coasters, as do i, but the parents think that they will be just walking around all day without anything to do. So if anyone has any ideas for my problem, help me out! I'm sure to go at least twice this summer, but i want to go to the point as much as possible.

Just tell them that there is a lot of stuff to do there for older folks. While you two do the coasters your parents could go on the carousel or the swan boats or eat a nice resturant. There is a lot to do for your parents to do!!
Shows.. slower rides.. just don't use the term "older folks" when doing your sales pitch.. hehe

You can find out more about the slower rides and shows at www.cedarpoint.com. Find a way to get a discount and tell them about it too. This certainly may help.

Try to get a guide to the different shows and show them that -- just the different shows will keep them busy all day long! Share the history of the park, the beauty of the beach and flower gardens, etc. My mother hates all manner of rides, but we always went and she had a good time. Don't forget the games too!

I think I've been to Cedar Point enough times that if I go with someone who doesn't like coasters I can stay with them and not regret it. I especially enjoy the candle shop, where you can dip your own candles (its a lot of fun!). Space spiral, swan boats :), sky ride, and the ferris wheel are usally rides that even a person who hates rides will do. If the people you are with are interested in photography, this will be an awesome place for them to do so. I have a friend who has some AWESOME black and white shots of many diffrent things from CP. Just have them explore, they'll find something!
They don't even have to go into the park. They can sit on the beach, go sight seeing, there is a lot to do around the Point.
Make sure they wait til after the first week of June. By then all the shows will be in full swing.
When I am there on a busy day and don't ride much,I am still happy with walking around seeing the shows. Best live shows of any park out there!
I have frirnd that doesn't ride because of heights, but he loves the park! I'm sure you can convince them into making a trip there! Good luck!

Even if you are just going for a day with older folk or non riders, have them go over to the Hotel Breakers, Fridays is there (boo), ice cream parlor, can sit out by the pool, walk the beach, etc.
