CP Weekend of Fail

The biggest issue with the Soak City parking lot is that there's only one exit -- and getting to that lone exit isn't necessarily straightforward. Look at an aerial view and you can see how easy a bottleneck is.

Which is why I'll never park at Soak City lot again. I warned a lot of my friends who aren't aware of Columbus Day weekend crowds. The stars were aligned for this day to happen; good weather, no sports teams playing, etc.

All I can say is remember this experience and plan ahead in the future.

In line for For Magnum we waited 2.5 hours and it was broken way before that. The lines kept moving giving the illusion that the ride was working. In reality the people about to get on were just pouring out the exit. All they have to do would be to give the people in line a heads up. ie.

1. Ride hosts do spiel on the platform and often in the queues if a ride goes down due to weather/ mechanical reasons.

2. When a ride is down, guests are absolutely NOT allowed to cross through the train and exit down the exit stairs. The instruction states, "If you wish to exit the line, you must go through the turn style and back the way you came." That being said, I don't believe this part of the story.

^^ I don't believe a lot of the story!

This past weekend at TTD was down to wind all day saturday, then opened at night. We got in line outside the gate and saw it was down again. So we left. as we left, it just launched and made it over the top. Then it went again and rolled back. Then it went down AGAIN. Soon, maintenance came out to the track and immediately fixed the problem area. And, the ride ops from the station announced the minute it went down, that it was down mechanically. So, they did a pretty good (and quick) job telling people it was down, and workers simply ran out to fix it right over out heads, literally. Good job cp on that part.
