Whoa Jason McClure threw down the gauntlet!
And because everything CP has to do with RMC Streak right now, I take this as an indicator it's for 2018. Can you imagine the new coaster being called the Cubs Coaster or something on opening weekend?!?

This is a really cool friendly competition between rivals. I'll be interested to see how it plays out.

I don't know about that. I think any extra exposure could potentially be good for the ride if it's debuting next year.
In fact, assuming RMC'd MS will debut in 2017, they could make a whole thing out of not telling anyone the name until after opening weekend. That would give them two consecutive weekends of exposure - one for the cute named-by-your-competitor angle, and another for finally revealing the name.

Ummm.....the Tribe will win the series....there will be NO Cubs named rides anywhere in the park. Come 'On now!!!
Hey, don't look at me, Shane's the one who started it. ;-)
I'm still holding out hope that the Tigers are going to win the World Series this year.

dj- Let's look at the facts. The the Cubs won the NL. The Indians won the AL. Therefore the Tigers won't win the World Series this year. And RMC Streak is for 2017.

Agree to disagree.

This is the first year in some time that I really don't care about the World Series. Guess I'd prefer the Indians to win but it really means nothing to me this year.
Maybe next year Nats :(
2018- Raptor
CP Top 5- 1)MF 2) Maverick 3) Gatekeeper 4) Top Thrill Dragster 5) Raptor
And if the Indians won, it would be great if Goliath was renamed "Mean Streak"
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
I'm a bit of a Cubs fan myself, so the idea of the CP team singing "Go, Cubs, Go" is one that I find appealing. :)

That would be amazing. SFGAm is my home park I can't stand the place and haven't been there for years, so I'm torn between rooting for the Cubs, my home team, or rooting for CP because SFGAm doesn't deserve to win anything
What do you not like about the park? I enjoyed it when I visited. Granted it's not CP but it has a good collection of fun rides. Hope I can get back up there next year.

Great America used to be an amazingly beautiful place back when it was a Marriott park.
Now it is pretty filthy and rundown, and it's ridiculous because they have banners and signage everywhere "Cleanest Theme Park In The World".
The rides are okay, but the lack of capacity efficiency and overall maintenance are bad. Goliath was a very fun, if short, ride. Gives me great hope for RMC Mean Streak. What RMC did with the small footprint that Goliath takes up is spectacular. Mean Streaks size comparably looks immense.
Keep in mind we go to CP 4-5 times a year (an 8 hour trip each way) and drive directly past Great America twice each time as we live in Green Bay, WI. Been going to CP since 2007. Up until this year we haven't been to GA since 2006, and it hasn't changed much. Went twice , 2 day trips, this year since we got $65 gold passes for the end of this year and all of 2017.

Go Tribe! Good thing they're not betting on football.
But then again, the Chicago Bears are currently 1 - 6.

I don't know if the park president / GM's realize this but: Game 6 & 7 (if necessary) is Tuesday, November 1 & Wednesday November 2nd. Cedar Point season is over on Sunday, October 30th. Yes, there will be still a few seasonal employees working the park, but the majority of seasonal employees are processing out (leaving) on either Oct 30th or October 31st. It looks like SF has limited hours after October 31st as well. How many employees will SF have after that point? Would they sing at the end of this season or at the beginning of next season (when they have more employees)? Or is it up to the full time employees and the select few employees still at the given park to sing the given song?
My guess is that it would be Tony, Jason, and some of the other full timers folks are somewhat familiar with from the blogs and social media regardless of whether or not it was the offseason.
I think Hank had better warm up his vocal cords. While the Indians had an off night last night, the Cubs certainly didn't look dominating or intimidating. With Kluber pitching game 4 I think the Indians have an excellent shot at taking two out of three in Chicago. Then they only need one in Cleveland. I'm predicting Indians in six games. I think Six Flags should rename a coaster to "Cedar Point Rocks".
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
