I can't be sure about this, but I thought one of the kiddie areas near the Big Dipper turnaround was sacrificed fore the waterpark remodeling. Plus I don't think CP includes the attractions in Soak City in the ride count.

Let's see...from what I can remember on closing day and over the winter, these rides are gone now:
thunder alley
flying scooters
YO YO
I'm not sure about the yo you, but I know flying scooters and thunder alley are gone. I'm guessing yo yo is since that is where SUE is. I also am pretty sure that CP doesn't count their water park rides.

Sue (we've now reduced that manly ride with a girl's name) is under Boomerang, or whatever they call it... not exactly Yo-Yo land (unless they moved the damn thing since I was there a few years ago).

The yo-yo was there this past weekend. Jeff's got it right, SUE will be directly behind and under the spikes of the Mind Eraser/Boomerang.

I counted 34 rides by looking at the SFO web site. Some of the rides that the original poster mentioned are no longer at the park, and water slides/river rides shouldn't be counted. Even if they have a few more minor rides that are not mentioned on the web page, they are no where near the 68 rides that CP has.
What about Six Flags Great Adventure? The locals there always say how it has more rides than anywhere else, including CP. And I believe their marketing says the same thing. I'd be curious to see about this. (And no, I'm not going to do a ride count, I'm too damn lazy :) )

I'm not sure about the ride count, but SFGAdv claims they're close to the coaster count too. But don't forget they count Rolling Thunder as two and they count their Intamin Freefall (Demon Drop clone). Let's see how it looks, shall we...

1 - Runaway Train
2 - Rolling Thunder
3 - Rolling Thunder (X)
4 - Medusa
5 - Viper
6 - GASM
7 - The Chiller: Batman
8 - The Chiller: Robin
9 - Batman: The Ride
10- Skull Mountain
11 - Blackbeard's Treasure Train
12 - Road Runner Express
13 - Stuntman's Freefall (X)

They claim 13 when they actually have 11. Gotta love that marketing dept. :)

hey guys, this topic belongs in the SFO phorum, not here. I think we're letting this SFO stuff get the best of us. let us not forget that Cedar Point will always work to maintain it's status as the number one amusement park in the country. also take into account how many accidents some of these six flags parks have had compared to the very few that have happened at CP (which are always kept Hush Hush. CP usually settles in court which is why you never read much about them in the paper if someone sues for any type of accident). I think our Cedar Point is in excellent hands, thanks to Richard Kinzel, CEO of the park. I believe he's done excellent work to keep the park running well, don't you all?

Please wait till the ride comes to a complete
stop!
I heard those rides were gone also, however on there site it says they are there so I counted them. Also, I counted the water rides because they are included in your admission which is only fair since Cedar Point's are extra $$$.
CP's got 68 rides, which last I checked, was still more than 67. =)
You're also counting all the water rides at SFO...does CP count theirs?
