CP Sick

Is anybody CPsick? Its like homesick except you miss CP. I bet you sometimes just wish you were in the queue or station of Wicked Twister right now. I wish I was sitting in the shade and eating those french fries right now. I wish I was standing on Mantis right now, waiting for the pain. I wish was walking under the Corkscrew right now. Doesn't everyone wish these things during the wintertime? Winter sucks, even if it is the most wonderful time of the year.
I think we all feel that way about now. Right after the season ends (October/November) I think we're still kinda on a buzz from the last ride we had. But mid-winter it gets bad, because its been about 4 months since we've last been there, and it will be at least another 4 months till we go again.

life without danger is a waste of oxygen

I miss the roaring of the coasters, The 1st drop on MF, Sitting in Raptors front seat, the wind in my face, the hot French fries, the changing lights on Power Tower, The sunny midways... The off-season is 7 months too long...

CP Fanatic Forever!!!

Welcome to the slow hostel environment of the dreaded off-season. The excitment of seeing the skyline as you cross the causeway. The feeling of riding your favorite coaster first in the morning. Remembering the sights and smells of the midways you've walked down so many times. It’s so simple, yet so perplexing.

Yep, we all feel this way. I hate the offseason, but look at it this way, there are 105 days until the park opens again. 94 days will be the halfway mark. I think the first half has gone rather quickly, but maybe that's just me.

I'm sure we all feel this way.

I remember laying in the Snoopy Botique in between some rocks...and a kid walking by saying "mommy...this is the graveyard!" Hehehe... Season passes let you do so much more with your time. You have time to relax because you know that you will be able to come back again soon!

You mean its still the off-season?....Damn it!
I sure do miss walking around the park at night. That to me is the best time to be there on a day off of work! Grab some fries and go watch the Summer Spectacular!

I get this really depressed look whenever I leave the park to go home. Yes, I miss the freedom.

But if it were open year round, then I don't think I'd appreciate it like I do. So while the closed periods of the year are terrible, I think they're a necessary evil.

I'm not feeling any withdrawal yet. Sure I'd love to be there, but I generally don't get bad withdrawal until like March or April on the home stretch. It usually is getting warmer at that time, and the days are longer. I think that we get adrenaline withdrawal because there are not many things that get the adrenal glands pumping in our normal lives like coasters do.

What is most anticipated event of 2003? the debut of Dragster, the release of Metallica's new album, the release of Terminator 3, or the release of Matrix:Reloaded...tough call.

It's like homesick except you miss CP.

That is homesick!

104 days left! 10 days until we're half-way through!

On closing day when I left the park I didn't look back. My eyes were filled with tears (almost, not quite), and I was sad. Sad as hell. But I forced myself not to look back until I got there on opening day 2003. Actually, it's most likely going to be the day before so I can get my season pass activated (or whatever the word is for that!).

I'm in the same boat as CP_Bound... Not until April when I get really antsy. The weather is nice, long days, no snow...

In the meantime, the announcement has held me over, videos, tapes (waiting for Robb Alvey's Coaster Video...), along with some new stuff over the winter: job, DDR, etc. etc...

Keep busy; Time flies when you're having fun :)

My advice: Go skiing! It's a great sport and it can give you adrenaline if you're good and can go really fast and could even pull a couple g's.

I try to ski 5 times a week.

i am in serious coaster withdrawl right now. i wish i could ski but my legs arent strong enough for it.

here in Illinois we have very little snow so even sledding is out of ther picture for now. sometimes a good sledding run can help you over the hump.

so i fill my time with movies and books and the Internet...and try not to count the days...

the wait for Return of the King is longer thatn the wait for CP...

The worst is yet to come, you know, sometime in February when it's an unseasonable and cruel 50* for one day. Those strange warm days in the middle of winter are terrible.

... Ahhhh... Dangling feet, Sun in my face, and wind in my hair .... Bliss!
Skiing, Snowboarding, and Sledding are excellent ways to relieve the off-season stress. I used to ski, and hope to get back into it this year. Otherwise, watch POV movies and it will be the closest to riding coasters.

So when we go to CP this year, what will we do first? Start doing the traditions you miss at CP like eating fries, or just riding Top Thrill and forgetting everything else? I don't know about you guys but screw tradition, I'm riding Top Thrill all day.

This off season is the worst one for me so far. The time is going by quickly thanks to the construction of "Dragster" and being able to frequent this site. I am also very grateful that I am going to SFMM and KBF in mid March (my first time in California). I am more than a little excited to ride Dragster's little brother Xcelerator! I've got my fingers crossed hoping that all the major rides will be open on the days that we are at those parks.

I want the park to open already. I know it's bitter cold (under 20 degrees) & snowy here. I want the warm weather & CP opened with all eyes gazing at TTD & saying "GULP! That things huge!". Ever since TTD was announced & I found this site, I've been CP crazy. I can't wait. I hate this frigid snowy weather.
God, I wish I was in line right now. I only say that when the ground is white...

Actually, I think my wife (who can't stand coasters) wishes the park was open so that I would shut up about it....
