Most people wouldn't even realize it was a used coaster if they stuck it at Cedar Point, especially if they gave it a new paint job. It will never happen, but if it did, that would be the coolest thing ever...Dominator was a great ride.

My first reaction to this news was the same. I thought (and still think) CP should get Dominator.
Before Maverick track was spotted, I was hoping CP would put in another B & M. Not necessarily a flyer, floorless, or any other gimmicky one; just a good 150+ foot hyper-looper with like 7 inversions. Maybe something like Kumba at Busch Gardens Africa but unique to CP.
I think moving Dominator to CP would make sense. It adds a ride type that hasn't been built at CP for 11 years. Its long course makes it easy to run 3 trains so it would be a people eater. And best of all the cost, although I'm sure still a pretty penny, would be considerably less than building something new. Did I mention it's a great ride?

Looks like Dominator is going to Kings Dominion after all. I know that wikipedia isn't always accurate but there are several other websites that confirm it.

^ Wow, did you seriously site wikipedia for something like this? Anyone can change the page's information, so it is more than likely not reliable. I'd bet that a KD fan just changed it to say that Dominator definitely was coming to please themselves.
I think that Cedar Point has a good chance of getting Dominator. It still holds the record for longest floorless coaster. CP is all about world records.
And where would they put it?
How about suqeezing it in between mantis and MF :)
Or...how about next to the big box DT is locked inside :)
Even try putting it out in the lake and ride above the waves.
Cedar Point will not get Dominator. Where would you put it, first off? Dominator was once part of some of Cedar Point's market. Cedar Point is the best amusement park in the world, if they wanted the worlds longest floorless coaster they would just build one of there own.

Is this enough for you? I'm pretty sure that Dominator is going to Kings Dominion. I know that most of this is not a "credible source" but what is the chance of all these people being wrong?

^ These rumors have been going on forever. Granted, they could be right, but also note that all these are just forums (just like here) taking a guess at where it might end up. I don't think they know anymore than we do at this point.
I understand that.... But I am pretty sure that it is going to Kings Dominion.

I could not see a used coaster going to CP. But, has Kings Island ever gotten a used coaster before Firehawk. Because, before then I could not imagine a used one going there either.
Airee85, your right. The GP would not know that a coaster is used. Only the fanatics like us crazy people would know.

Not gonna happen. And not because you're wrong. That is, a floorless would be a great addition at CP and it's a decent ride (although reviews of Dominator arent exactly flowering...more like "ho-hum").
The main reason it wont is because of all the other parks CF recently purchased. Dominator would serve a MUCH greater purpose at one the other parks in dire need of a great steel high-thrill coaster.
It's all about need, and CP isn't exactly in need of this type of ride.
Promoter of fog.
Cedar Point is in the business of new experiances, and unprecidented rides. I doubt that they will want to hold a world record with a coaster that has already been experienced at a different park. I would be dissapointed to see Cedar Point expand its coaster collection with a used ride, no matter how big or fun it is.
How much do you reckon it would cost to dismantle, move and rebuild Batman/Dominator/whatever they end up calling it now? Just curious.

King's Dominion needs Dominator, regardless of whether or not the rumors are accurate. I was there this past summer, and they have quite a few coasters (12 I think) and only one of them is worth anything (Volcano). That leaves them with 11 bad to mediocre coasters in their park. Dominator would certainly round out their selection and give them a much needed new main attraction.
Plus, who would really want CP to get a used coaster anyway?
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Aw come on, IJTC and Rebel Yell aren't bad. That's pretty sad that I can only say that 3 out of 13 coasters are decent.
