Once upon a time, many long years ago, there was a grand beach by the Lake.
But this place was no fun, so no people would go, not knowing of the park they would make.
But along came a man, and a bathhouse he made, on this old beach by Lake Erie.
And then people came, and they swam and they played, and seemed to enjoy it quite clearly.
A man George Boeckling took over the place and made it more fun than before.
Cedar Point went thru many more long years of grace, even through the 1st World War.
Over the years it became a resort, with midways and food stands and rides.
People would come to the park on the shore, and soon the whole place came alive.
Like its own rides, the Point had ups and downs, but it was still number one.
The park brought more people to Sandusky town, where they could ride rides and have fun.
This park still stands tall and has more room to grow, and many more records to break.
So look at the Point now and think, "long ago, this was but a beach by the Lake."
