CP Resorts

I'm just impressed with the hdr and detail of the water.

Good day all!

I know Castaway Bay is closed for 2020 sadly but not surprised as they probably decided to keep it closed to speed up renovations.

But I see the cabins at LP and CP Express are also shuttered to new reservations. I'm wondering if you think it's because of staffing issues?

That would only seem logical in the case of CPE as I would think the cabins would be the first options open as they are the only true resort that can somewhat give people true social distancing, aside from the pool of course.

Any thoughts?

I just used my Google Pixel 1.

Yes, the first one.

Nope...just pointed, aimed, and shot. I'm generally impressed at its ability to make it look like I know what I'm doing.

Kevin, you are not kidding. I'm horrible at taking pictures. But I got a Pixel 3a and it makes things look respectable.

I took this a few weeks ago at Canyonlands:

I also messed around with the time lapse option (of course I had to take the gondola ride!):

But yes, to get somewhat back to the point of this website, I did hit up a few amusement parks:

Sorry for hijacking the thread, back to the resort talk! ;)

Curious has anyone stayed at Sawmill Creek? Is it open? And is there a Sawmill there?

Sawmill Creek isn't open, they're still working on renovations to be open next year

Not so long ago, my wife and I were part of the lonely club of Windows Phone users...in fact we got her a Nokia 1020 just for the camera. I forget my Nokia # but it was a lesser model. How sad it felt as the phones got left in the dust with no apps designed. I actually liked the interface.

The pixel jump was pretty easy, though; really still completely happy with the gen 1.

I love my 3xl.

I don't have a good eye for photography so the photos aren't good because I just can't sent them up but every now and then I get one that's awesome.

Did you copy and paste my initial post on accident?

Nah, it seems to be a pretty common compliment to the #teampixel phones.

Now one technology I love is night sight, and astrography if I can get out somewhere dark enough to use it. Some engineer must have had some crazy ideas to come up with that.

Also call screen is brilliant and I enjoy some of the digital wellbeing features.

Probably a bot. I had one repost a whole thread I did once.

The lack of robust sales of Pixel phones shows how poorly Google markets stuff, because I don't know anyone who has one that didn't love it. I've had the first, a 3 and now a 4. Great photos are stupid simple without multiple exotic cameras, and the computational depth of field has become really good.

I loved my Windows Phone. My favorite interface/operating system. But like you note, having 5 apps total (and not one decent mapping app) was tough. Joked that only me and BIll and Melinda Gates had one. I held on longer than Bill did. Was on a flight from Chicago to Cleveland by the time Windows phones were totally faded in terms of market share. Guy in the seat next to me noticed my phone when we both checked phones when we landed in Cleveland. He had one as well. We had to be the only two people on the flight (which was full) with Windows phones. Had that plane gone down, Windows phone users would have gone down by at least 10%. Like my Android but miss Windows phone sometimes.

To get back on topic.

Has anyone here stayed to the breakers this year.

Was wondering how they are handling maid service, towels, etc. ?

Hair dryers, ice buckets, cups, pens and paper are available upon request. Also there is no stayover service, but you can request towel and trash exchange.

Hello all, I don't post very often, but a friend and I are planning a last minute trip to hit CP and KI this weekend. I tried to book a room at Breakers and didn't have any luck for either Thursday or Friday night. The only thing that shows having any availability is Lighthouse Point for the RV spots. Even Breakers says "Property Restricted."

I did ask on the online chat if there was any availability for any combination of those dates, and was told there was not for breakers, and also asked if the person on the other end had any knowledge if there may be availability opened for the cottages/cabins and was told they didn't have that information.

I guess I'm asking if anyone else has tried to book at Breakers and had no availability and if there was a noticeable correlation to crowd levels? Or also if anyone knows if they are limiting the capacity to half the rooms or something like that? Just curious! I'll report back, and let you know about my experience at the park this weekend!

We're in the same boat. I actually was looking for a Breakers room for this Saturday and the website showed nothing. I called to make sure because yesterday they had many different room types available. She confirmed that she was seeing the same, no availability for Saturday night. I asked whether they are limiting capacity due to COVID and she confirmed that is the case. I guess a lot people decided to pull the trigger between yesterday and today.

Somewhat reassuring to hear a similar situation I guess. I also thought they could have decided to limit guests staying on site after new regulations placed by the governor? I'm from Missouri, so the specifics of Ohio mandates don't cross my eyes like the local ones do, obviously.

The encouraging news is that they are still accepting weekend reservations for Fall season all the way through the originally posted closing weekend of Oct 30-Nov 1.

Agreed, and I think this Saturday may be the busiest they've seen since the reopen. Rooms at local hotels were filling up pretty fast too. First time staying at Econo Lodge for me in a while but I've stayed there several times in the past and never had issues. Wanted to use points at the Holiday Express but they're "sold out" of reward rooms and I'm not paying $220+ to stay there. In fact, I remember discussing that with the wife last night and that's why I went to book at Breakers because it would have only been $60 more. Should've pulled the trigger yesterday but had no idea they'd be sold out considering how many room types were available yesterday afternoon.

Wow! Lol

I read the message like ummmm... Did I change my SN and not realize it LOL
