CP Reopening- Gov DeWine comments

XS - that $50 cancellation fee will likely make it something most folks don't want to do

They could get an accurate count of resort guests by assigning park admission reservations for the whole group to the guests as they check into the resorts.

I absolutely agree that the terms/conditions have changed and it is reasonable to request a refund. I think the park did the best they could by offering extensions of the passes into 2021. They did the same thing for admission tickets extending them past their normal valid days through the end of this operating season.

I was trying to convey that if that doesn't work for some, then contact Cedar Point and I'm sure they will work with you on coming up with a solution. The FAQs cover the most common situations that will occur. If the general changes don't work for someone's specific situation, then just contact CP and with kindness, explain what you are looking for in terms of resolution.

I didn't word it as well as I should have, but my point was getting all heated up on Social Media does nothing. At least give the park a chance to address individual concerns.

We had a Breakers reservation for later in July (as well as over July 4th which will be cancelled) and we want to see how things play out for the first few weeks before deciding if we will go this season. While I understand the reasons, it's not my idea of a fun time to go in the heat of summer wearing a mask outdoors. We will wait to see if a later phase of reopening happens and what changes occur. Normally, there is a cancellation fee associated with reservations but we asked if we could cancel without penalty and it wasn't a problem at all. Full refund of the deposit with very prompt service and easy resolution.

I was referring to a park reservation not a hotel.
but I wonder if there’ll be a fee for not showing up for a park reservation. Or if the system will prevent future park reservations if you miss one. I haven’t read that anywhere yet.

Gotcha. Makes sense now.

I'm curious if there will be a limit on how many reservations passholders can make at a time, and how far out the reservation calendar will go out. For example - will I be limited to only having one active reservation date at a time? Or can I go in on the first day reservations open up and choose as many dates as I want and get dibs on days I want like a friend's birthday, Labor Day, Closing Day, etc. Or will they roll out available dates as the season progresses?

The payment plan situation will be interesting as well. My home park is Canada's Wonderland this year and they might not be so quick to open back up so I would expect my payment plan to stay paused. But I am still "current" so would I be allowed into to Ohio parks? Would think so and I could make manual payments anyway.

I'm not sure if this has been confirmed yet, so let me know if I'm a dummy. Do we know if each guest will need their own reservation to enter the park? Or if one person can make a reservation for their entire group?

I read recently where some other park out there does indeed have a penalty for no-show and the customer must cancel prior to 48 hours. I can’t remember who, it may be Six Flags or Seaworld. And don’t quote me, I can’t remember, but it’s not any CF park. And the penalty is removal from the reservation system. There was no mention of whether the ban is permanent or not, but I’d reckon that through the right kind of conversation one might be re-instated.

I’m ok with any of that, as there are already many responsibilities around reservations of all kinds these days. But my concern is waking up on the morning of and looking outside to see an all day rain. Or someone is really sick. If it means punishment for not cancelling in a timely manner then I’d have a problem with it.

disclaimer: I haven’t taken the time this morning to read CP’s or KI’s actual release. It all may be addressed there.

^^LeBron probably has the same question. :)

I haven't read anything on that DVO so imagine they are probably still working through the details. Or maybe I'm a dummy too and missed it :)

There would have to be the opportunity to make a reservation and fill out the health check for your group especially in the case of children. Believe it or not some 5 year olds do not have a smartphone. :)

I find interesting that resort guests are guaranteed entry for each day of their stay, beginning the day after check-in. So I guess their arrival/check-in day will be a resort only day. Unless they're a passholder of course.

Blasphemy!!! A 5 year old without a smartphone? What kind of person would do that? What a hard knock life :)

Of course we have the confusing and mixed messaging about face mask requirements. CP says required at all times, KI says per protocols and then the video says especially when social distancing is difficult.

My family is trying to decide whether to make a reservation/plan a trip for July or not. We are 350 miles away so we have to plan in advance. I grew up an hour from CP and was a passholder forever, but I haven't been back since 2014, when my now-9.5-year-old was three and my now-4-year-old wasn't born yet.

On one hand I'm eager to go and bring my kids and the park might be a lot quieter with limited capacity. On the other hand, we are concerned about Covid and crowds and don't want to make the drive and end up feeling uncomfortable about it. We also had been planning on having my parents/my kids' grandparents meet us there to help take turns with the little one, but they aren't feeling ready for a visit. So lots of factors, for sure. Might just have to wait until 2021.

On the WOF website under the FAQ section, they specify that each person visiting must have a separate reservation attached to their pass or ticket.

Most questions I had were answered here, granted it's for a different park in the chain, they probably will all use the same procedures.

People are noticing Fastlane as unavailable too, on some sites completely removed. This could be due to having yet to announce opening days and schedules. Or it could be they know they would get even more hate and anger if they are allowing people to skip over these guidelines cause they paid extra.

Nothing in that video was unexpected or out of the realm of reason for a phase 1 re-opening.

Maybe the park doesn't expect big enough wait times to make it worth using Fast Lane? I stopped over to Universal yesterday and all the Annual Pass options for me to skip lines leading up to park entry were pointless as there wasn't any waiting to begin with. Once in the park the longest wait was Gringotts at 15 minutes. Not worth the cost of an Express Pass.

I read that CP will be reaching out to us (passholders/hotel reservations) at some point to reserve our tickets. I wonder when we should be expecting that? We are out of town passholders, and are staying at Breakers in mid August

Guessing the face mask policy for when it rains will different too. ;)

In all seriousness, I thought the agreement with the state was 'all times' (except eating, drinking, and break areas like Universal I assume). To leave that open to interpretation for the guest seems like a bad idea.
