CP Police At Geauga Lake!

I was at Geauga Lake yesterday and I saw the same cop that kicked my friend out from CP last year. My friend deserved it though because he was trying to start a fight with someone.

But the officers were wearing black or dark blue CPPD uniforms that had the same patch on them. I wonder if they are going to have CP officers over there this year? Has anyone else seen them?

Word is all SF security was let go. Dont know how true that is.

Word had it that all of SF 'security' is some kind of Sheriff outcroppings from around there? Like some kind of rookies that were very prone to accepting bribes and such... In any case I would be surprised if they were accepted back at all ...

Edit: I made a bad generalization and it was a little harsh...

The Geauga County Sheriff department used to hire seasonal deputy's to do the security. They will not be back this year because the new Sheriff decided to pull them out sometime last year. So we may see part of the cedar point police force over there this summer!

Will these police allow you to run to coasters? I know with the herding of the bulls at CP and everyone running to coasters it is perfectly legal. Last year the guy told me if he caught me running (at SFWoA) to X-Flight again he was going to revoke my pass! Isn't that a bit extreme?

I'm not sure how both parks policy's are but most parks don't allow running. Because if you fall or hit someone and hurt them they can probably sue the park. I know its really hard to enforce like at CP in the mornings but I guess its one of those stupid rules!

You are not allowed to run in the park. The only reason running of the bulls was allowed is because there was no possible way they could stop thousands of people from running. Also you may have noticed now that that the way they open the park pretty much eliminates that huge rush. Sure there's still some people running, but it's not mass chaos on the midway.

I can tell you I was one of about 200 that was 'powerwalking' to the coaster. Oh well that's beside the point. The cop was a jerk to us because we were kids and it was out of line with all that he said. I'm not too upset to see them leave the park.
Only about half the staff were deputies, some were new hires some veterns looking for a little extra pay on days off. The other staff was hired security folk, not affiliated with the sheriffs office in any way.

CPPD is at the park. Cedar Fair had some people go down to the lake. Not sure though what will happen with security this year.

-Sam (who talked to a CPPD officer there yesterday).
