MaXair is a great ride, it is not overrated. It may not be to your taste but that doesn't make it overrated to riders that enjoy "spinny" rides. Maverick is just one of the best coasters at any park anywhere IMHO, far from being overrated.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
This one is tougher than the underrated thread for me. Mainly because I can find things I love in most of the rides and the ones that I dislike are certainly not overrated or underrated.
Gatekeeper.... Love it though. For flat ride Skyhawk although if it had as many swings or close as Maxair it would be my favorite in the park.
This is tough for me. I would say Magnum, but I'm not sure how many people rate it that high anymore. It's certainly historic and one of the most important rides ever for Cedar Point, but the ride itself is fairly rough (I find it smoother when the trims don't fire on the way into the pretzel). For flat rides, I like them all.
CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini
I'm going to second Millennium. I do like the first drop, but that's all the ride has for me is the first hill. From that point forward it's just speed and curves. If I wanted 70-90mph stuff, I'd just go drive. It has a ton of hype, and is odd considering I think Fury literally takes a squat on every other giga.

Perhaps, but it's important to consider that after MF/SD2000 opened in 2000, it was an entire decade before the next giga opened (I305) and still another 5 years before Fury opened.
Presumably a lot of advancements in design and fabrication occurred in those 15 years.

Oh I absolutely agree, however some people still regard Millennium with this "holier than thou" pedestal, and I just completely disagree. It will usually have quite the line in July compared to other rides. Which in a way is fine by me I guess, lets me get more enjoyment out of all the other Arrows.

I love MF, but I refuse to wait more than 20-ish minutes for it (though that's becoming true of most rides these days). If there were one more airtime hill on the island, it would be a much better coaster in my opinion.

Agree, I like MF but it is mostly a cruiser instead of a coaster with a lot of different forces. For me, Magnum (my favorite), Maverick, Rougarou, Raptor, Gatekeeper, Valravn and Wicked Twister all rate higher on the scale than MF. Matter of fact, if the park is crowded, I would be happy just getting multiple rides on Magnum, Corkscrew, Gemini and Mine Ride. I'm still a fan of what Arrow did back in the 70's and 80s.

I agree with not waiting more than 20 minutes for rides. I refuse to wait anymore than 15 for TTD which is why I only ride it a handful of times each year. Since I go to the park at least 10 times a year, there's always next time if I don't get on a particular ride. If it's a park I don't go to very often, I'll wait in line. There's plenty of other things to do in the park besides riding.

Count me in as one who thinks Millennium Force is completely overrated. I never understood the infatuation of this coaster. It's fun to operate though, that's for sure.
In terms of Fury 325 being better, I agree. Which is very strange because ever since B&M has been the sole designers behind their rides for a while now, I have found that B&M additions are more dull than past installments. But that argument is for a different thread.

I plead guilty to being spoiled by enthusiast events. I won't wait more than 20 minutes for any ride in any park -- with one exception, I'll wait when I'm at a park with a dear friend who wants to ride a ride.
I'm a Marxist, of the Groucho sort.
Wow, I'm surprised to see all the MF responses here. I do understand them, though. It is my absolute favorite coaster.
My answer has to be TTD. It is a really fun ride, but the payoff isn't generally worth spending that much time in line. I'll wait 2 hours for MF, but I wouldn't want to wait any more than 1 for TTD, and I haven't. I'd love to get a rollback someday though.
I want to choose a runner-up but can't really think of one. I'm not a huge WT fan but I feel like that's fairly "rated" as it is.
