The Cleveland Plain Dealer has a nice feature on the winter time activities at the park.
The online version does not have the photos from the hard copy, a photo of work on the Gemini, the winter time maintence shed, and a few others. It is worth the 35 cents.

Red Garter Rob is correct. If I remember correctly, if someone uses a logo, picture, slogan, etc..., the party holding the copyright in most cases is required to sue or they could lose their copyright to the material in question. Granted the party holding the copyright has to be aware that someone else is using their material. I'm not sure of everything that is covered but if you remember years ago a man was tattooing his body with Disney material (why I have no idea). He got on the news and the next thing you know he was being sued by Disney. All's they wanted was a promise from him to stop. But I guess it's an example of the copyright laws being enforced.

Anyway, yes, you'd be violating copyright, regardless of use. Try stealing my photos and see if I don't sue you.
NASA photos, those made public, are available royalty free, in the public domain. You're a tax payer... you paid for them and can use them as you wish provided it isn't a commercial use. Even then, it depends, and some stuff is still free to use. Depends on the area of NASA it's from.

I stand corrected. Still if I go to Saturn or Kinkos they will copy a picture from a book or other copyrighted material.
Did anyone notice that the picture on the top of the first page shows the missing Vertigo Tower? Can you say ooops! They must have taken it a couple days after it fell. The bottom of the tower is still standing and it clearly broke beneath the part were the pieces are bolted together.
Not that any of the GP will pay attention anyway.

Direct from a copyright statement used in most books today: "No part of this book shall be reproduced or transmitted in any form or by any means, electronic, mechanical, magnetic, photographic including photocopying, recording..."

Andrew, that usually is with a statement that goes something without prior consent. Paying royalties and such. I'm sure Kinkos takes no responsibility to what you ask is copied. They do their job, it's the person paying Kinkos responsibility to do the hard work of getting the royalties. Basically I think places like Kinkos have statements like "We are not responsible for copyright infringement." Although I've personally never used a Kinkos like place.
Anyways, what was this topic again?
