CP needs!

I was at Cedar Point yesterday(Coaster Mania)and it wasn't to crowded. We rode MF twice with our waits being 2 1/2 hours and 1 hour. During our first ride they switched trains several times. and before our second trip the ride shut down for awhile. People were getting mad but then cheered very loudly when they saw the train going up the hill. But what this post is really about is Cedar Point's clenliness. I couldn't believe it!On Coaster Mania! There were cobwebs in the rides line especially Iron Dragon. On MF there was treash sitting around, vandalism, and a gum wall. Raptor, Mantis, Blue Streak, and Corkscrews hill are in need of a paint job. The park wasn't real dirty, but from what I have come to expect from Cedar Point it was terrible. I thought they would have every sparkling for Coaster Mania. No offense but Six Flags was very clean last weekend. Just because they built a huge roller coaster, doesnt give them the right to slack off. On a positive note everyone with me absolutely loved Disaster Transport. I noticed there were some added props also. And to close this post. Millenium Force is the GREATEST ride EVER!!!

PS I rode Mantis for my first time and my feet were killing afterwards. Probably because I recently had surgery on them and it sure does put a lot of pressure on them. My friends were also walking wuite funny afterwards. I think Mantis would make an awesome floorless coaster. Would it be possible to just switch the cars? *** This post was edited by EHemdo09 on 6/3/2000. ***
First, Cedar Point is not going to thourally (sp?!?) clean the park every day. They are there to give you thrills not win the clean park award. Spiderwebs can develop over night and I don't think Cedar Point is going to park people to dust everyday. Second, some rides do need paint. But if you want the problem taken care of, then you would have to do it. Rust builds up every winter on the ride. This is not something I am worried about. Like I said I am not at Cedar Point to look at the rides I am there to ride them. As for gum, whose fault do you think that is. People. Gum walls and Gum Trees are disguisting. The only reason Six Flags Ohio looks better is because, wait its comming to me, because...ITS NEW. They just bought the park so of course its going to look nice. I don't know why you would compare a new park to an old one, the second oldest in the US. If you would like the park to be clean then go there and get a job. All I am saying is the park will clean it up. They cannot just run to a ride because a spider thought, "I need a house here."

Well I have been to Cedar Point many times and I remember much cleaner. A clean atmosphere is important to a lot of people. I mean it wasnt filthy just it wasn't Cedar Point. At Six Flags they scraped all the gum and stuff off and painted over it. I think Cedar Point should watch their lines better. There were quite a few people smoking and that makes me mad. And while we were waiting in line for MF 2 girls ran RIGHT infront of a Cedar Point employee across the grass and into the line ahead of us. Like 3 feet infront of the employee!!! and as soon as I sit on a rail the police are there. More responsible police officers=less vandalism. I saw tons of police there but I didnt see them doing anything. Six Flags painted many of their old rides this winter, and Cedar Point could have quite easily. It doesn't matter how old it is. And I intend to get a job at Cedar Point once I'm old enough but as of now I can't drive.
Like I said the owners of Six Flags of course are going to clean the park up because they just opened it up as Six Flags Ohio. Thats with anything, buildings, Businesses, they spruce up the old things so the whole park looks good. People cut in line all the time, at Six Flag and any other park. If the officers did see it then go tell them. Also the 2 girls may have went to go use the bathroom and come back. CP police let people do that. But other than that why don't you complain to Cedar Point?

Uhhh, a brief remark about the coasters paint jobs...Did you notice the Iron Dragon and Corkscrew's trains recieve complete overhauls this year. I've never seen those trains look so shiny!

And as for SFO...I thought the park was just gaudy and ugly even if it was clean!!! I'd prefer Michigan's Adventure over it!
I was there yesterday and under one of the Corkscrews loops there was a dead bird stuck in the cage under the track... very nice site

As far as the gum on MF, one of the operators was scraping all the gum off and was not looking too pleased in having to do it. Fresh gum must have been stuck to the wall again by idiots. I don't understand this whole stick the gum to the wall idea. Some people are just filthy pigs.
No the girls were standing in line then cut across the grass that separates some of the line. If you have rode MF you should know what I'm not talking about. And about my PS in the original post... Is anyone going to answer me about switching the Mantis cars? I think that would be cool! Also Frontier Trail looks great.
well as for that, they did put a trim brake on the drop to slow it down. When I rode it the only trouble I had with my feet was on the first drop. It hurt but it didn't ruin the ride

Mantis is painful for me. Period. I haven't had surgery yet I come off with THROBBING pains in my calves every time. I still ride and enjoy it because the pains only last to the point where I walk down the Exit ramp. They are incredibly painful. I don't understand why it's just as bad as it was without the trims on the first drop. I must admit tho, it's not just Mantis because I had the same problem on SFMM Riddler.

I was there on the 24th and 25th, it wasn't dirty at all compared to SIx Flags in DC, that place was gross.
If you come to Orlando though the parks here are the clean of clean..Islands of Adventure is the cleanest Iv seen, but it is new.
I was just at Six Flags Ohio recently and Cedar Point for Coaster-Mania and Cedar Point is way cleaner than SFO. Yes M.Force may have alittle bit of a gum wall but SFO makes me sick! SFO's new coaster's stations already have gum all over them and alot of srupid writing on it " Villain station." Cedar Point is the cleanest and nicest amusement park i've ever been too!

I think CP does have someone scrape off the gum every night, but the idiots keep putting more on. I rode MF in the morning and there was very little gum, but by 10:00pm the wall was full of it and an employee was cleaning it up.
The Corkscrew did look nice this year, but Magnum is in need of a paint job.
About Mantis... I couldn't walk for the rest of the night! My feet are still sore from it. I guess I probably shouldn't have rode it. And I nver will again. It hurt so bad I couldn't enjoy the ride. Make it floorless!
About cobwebs:
Actually rides crews and sweeps are supposed to de-web every morning, it IS part of our daily routine.

Now about Six Flags parks:
Even my boyfriend, who has been to exactly four parks in his entire lifetime (SFNE, Canobie Lake, Cedar Point, and Hersheypark) and two of them because of me, was disgusted by the trash on the ground at Six Flags New England, and the employees walking around with dustpans and not sweeping anything. He was completely disgusted MOSTLY because we had just been to CP a few weeks before that and he remembered how clean our park is and compared the two without even thinking about it, much like I do.

I think people who go to CP a lot and don't go to other parks much tend to take the cleanliness at CP for granted and then later begin to notice the very few bad things simply because they're so used to the good things and it's different. This may be the case here...I'm willing to bet, because I've heard nothing but good reviews about my sweep crew this year and I intend to keep it that way. :) :)

Well thats what I was saying. I am so used to Cedar Point being spotless. The little trash shocked me.
I think the sweeps do a great job and I always tell at least 1 of them THANK YOU on each visit.
I even thank the bathroom cleaners. Now theres a job that we would all want isn't it?

If I wanted to clean up after animals, I would work for a vet. or for a zoo.

With all of the idiots visiting the park, noone could ever keep everything spotless. CP even had to remove the paint from the MF handrails because of the names being scratched into the metal by all of the lower lifeforms.

CP thanks for keeping the park clean:)

I don't mind riding Mantis at all. Yes, it puts a little pressure on your legs, but it has never caused me any problems. I don't think that they should make it floorless, because I enjoy it as a stand up.

-------------
...and enjoy the rest of your day at Cedar Point, The Am-aaaa-zement park!

Funny, I never have any problems on Mantis. I don't stand with my feet flat, but only slightly on my tip-toes. Then when the ride starts I get higher on my tip-toes and stand rigid. It's kind of strange, but it works for me.
