I want to take shots from the POV videos, any cool pivtures i can find and make a "Music Video" This is where i need ur guys help, what is the best song (preferably techno, electronic) that you can think off thats long (4 or 5 minutes. min.) that goes good with coasters, my first thought was MF theme song but... thats kinda.... already used for the coaster, see what u guys can think of, and i'll make sure i get a link to that video when i'm done!

Thanks Guys!

One song that I think would go great for a MF music video would be U2- Elevation. (I'm actually trying to get my friend to make a music video with that in his broadcasting class.)  Check out this fourm http://www.guidetothepoint.com/thepoint/cpplace/thread.asp?ForumID=1&TopicID=6683 it was brought up last month and there are a lot of good ideas in there.

"Mean Streak would be better if they replaced the square wheels with round ones."
I tried to find the best song to sync with the Cedar Point coasters, and I think that this is it. I like metal, and it's hard and fast through the all the rides. I've found that a song that works perfectly for Magnum, Raptor, and MF. It's "Fight Fire With Fire" by Metallica.

If the music is synced to start at the same time as Magnum's POV, and the footage from the dispatch and lift is sped up 2X, and slowed to normal at the top, the really fast music kicks in at the very bottom of the hill. The music is really fast down the 2nd drop and turnaround as well. Right after you come of the last tunnel and hit the breaks, and switch to the video of Raptor.

This video starts at the very top of the lift. As you go down the drop, if the video and music is synced, you hear "We all shall die!" The ride on Raptor ends with a fast solo through the helix, and and you hit the brake run, switch to the MF footage.

The music with this ride matched perfectly to whats happening. As you go up the lift, there is a solo. On the drop, there's a very hard drum beat, at the top of the first turn, the music slows and gets fast on the swooping turn. It slows at the top of the 3rd hill, and gets fast for the whole island section. From the return cross-over hill to the bunny hill, the song says "Fight fire with fire..." over and over again with it's climax of "Fight!" at the top of the bunny hill. Right after the last turnaround, you hear the sound of an atomic bomb dropping as you coast into the brakes. You hear an explosion, and then the video cuts out. It's very fitting, and cool to listen to and watch if you're into that type of music.

If you want one for Mantis, play She-wolf by Megadeth. It even says "preying mantis" as you go up the lift. :) After you hit the brakes, you can start up the MF footage, and it works with the rest of the song.

I suppose Barry Manilow and "I Write the Songs" is out of the question...?

Blink-182 - Roller Coaster... Over the summer I'm gonna make a music video to that song, just for the hell of it...

"Phat Bass" - Warp Bros vs. Aquagen.  Not sure how long the song is, but that one's pretty sweet.  I love driving at high speeds listening to that.

I think (just in my opinion), that train's drops of jupiter is a good song for coasters.  Just because when he talks about being out of the atmosphere and the and the wind sweeps you off of your feet.  Well it just reminds me of a coaster.  It reminds me of being on a coaster.

Go Bees! (I used to coach freshman volleyball there. Anyway...)

I might just do some kind of music video next year, but I'm not going to use existing music, for copyright reasons. I may give something a new try in ACID, since the MF remix I did seemed to be well received.

LoL Jeff, it's alot better than any of my attempts to make music in ACID...

I'm in the middle of a 3 year project myself.  I don't plan on using just one song though.  I'm more dedicated to featuring each coaster under a specific song and give special attention to launch/drop and water rides as well, then provide good themes for park arrival, overview, nighttime sights and departure.  I've picked out music for each different segment.  All I need now is to script, shoot and process.  (I though long and hard on how I was going to go about doing Disaster Transport, but I finally figured it out.  I'll shoot strict video footage of the outside and flash in photos of the interior at opportune times.  Photos like the debris field and such will give it a better look than just outside photos.  Those little disposable cameras will be good for something.)

Beav, Medina, Hey, I'm from North Ridgeville.  I remember the football games where we would lose terribly against Medina (not to mention every other team in the conference as well).  Anyways, my input would be any Cedar Point song, but especially, the  "Get To The Point" campaign song from the 80's :)

I heard from one enthusiast that Adobe Premiere is the best one to use.  You can splice, fade, and modify video feeds and sound insertions like a pro with it.

Adobe Premiere is pretty darn nice. I got a chance to play with it at school and I really liked it. The only negative thing, since it is big and powerful program, is the price: $500+ Heres Adobe Premiere's website:
http://www.adobe.com/products/premiere/main.html

I currently use, Video Factory(by the same company that makes Acid). It has a similar interference as Acid so it is easy to use(especially if you have/ or used Acid). What's nice about Video Factory is that is comes in many different versions to suit your needs and budget(you can get the regular version or the pro version). The regular version is only 55 bucks.

Jeff I applaud you for the MF remix, I listen to it constantly.  When I think of coaster music, MF is always techno, while the other coasters bring metal to mind.
Here's a video update,

The first "pre-release" is about 1/2 finished. The quality is turning out worse than i thought, i'm using the CP POV videos and some downloaded pictures (with consent). The POV videos are REALLY BAD QUALITY, and if i knew that i was going to be doing this i would have taken my own POV's last summer. but anyways. The video is coming along pretty well and should be on it's first release soon. By the way just if anyone wanted to know, I'm using adobe premier and adobe photoshop to do most of the work with a couple of audio programs to do some little stuff here and ther, ans may i say, premier is the easiest video editing tool i've ever used, it's so drag and drop and so stupid person friendly (hope no one takes offense.) :(. anyways if you would like the site to where to video will be available to download, please email me (in my info thing), cause i'm not allowed to post a site.

Adobe Premier is a piece of crap. It's not worth the CD it's burned on.

Jeff's ";)" is because I own Avid Xpress DV, a software-only version of the same software used on most of the TV and film you see. Given my background, I obviously can't settle for anything non-pro. It's bad enough I have a consumer camcorder (with a ridiculous pro tripod).

What, am I the only person that uses Final Cut Pro?? I could have it finished and burned to DVD in less time than it would take just to edit it in Avid...but that is just my opinion...
