I'm not making it more than what it was....And you can try and say it was a joke, but that also doesn't pass the smell test. But, you know, nice try. :-)
This whole quote is you making it more than what it is. If you took what I said and turned it into other implications, that’s a you problem. But, nice try ;)
When me making a harmless post about one of the park's new ticket offerings turns into a hostile debate about the value of Michiganders as park guests, you know it's been a long and rough off-season.
I wonder if they'll be offering a Missouri Bundle now too?

New for 2024- Wicked Twister Plus
$40 includes $20 parking and a $13 drink unlimited wrist band?
So essentially it's $7 for the day pass if you are a Michigan resident?
Why the hell would the park basically be giving away tickets at this price?
Detroit days at CP were not enjoyable. Put in Bay bull **** Detroiters pulled was even more ridiculous, lol. I've never seen something like that before.
This sure is a strange move by CP...

Obviously they have to do what they have to do in order to get people through the gate during May and June, but these tickets are good the entire summer (excluding only Halloweekends) so this does seem to be sort of taking the Six Flags approach. Heck - it's almost a step further. Six Flags gave away the gate. CP is tossing in parking and drinks too so they're giving away MORE than the gate. I'm sure they're banking on people spending more on meals, Fastlane, etc when they're there, but it seems risky that they'll make way less than they would have anyway or that they'll increase attendance so much that is detrimental to the experience.
I assume they'll pull this offer once they reach a certain threshold of time or number sold, but it's definitely a tremendous deal for the once or twice a summer trippers from Michigan. I just told two co-workers about it who probably were going to go anyway, but now they'll be paying a lot less!

My sister who lives in Michigan bought some of these tickets. Out of curiosity she was wondering what was keeping her from buying tickets for non-Michiganers. In other words, are they checking IDs at the gate with these tickets?

Yeah, I was wondering about this... how do they verify that you're from Michigan??
From what I have seen, you must be adorned with that horrible maize & blue with an "M" on it, or ugly green with a "Sparty" logo, or the classy tire & wing logo, or fancy D logo, or the sharp looking silver & blue Lion garb. Or, one can wear Chippewa's or Bronco's or "UP", or Frankenmouth stuff. Toledo shirts do not cut it, that is Ohio still, I think.
I'm not sure exactly how IP addresses work, but don't they at least indicate general location? Maybe they verify that you're from Michigan based on your computer being in Michigan.

At least we don't have a hairless nut for a mascot.
