CP in the news

Well if you live in toledo, or around toledo and watch 13 abc new at 11:00 pm last night they had a little bit about how the ride were worked on in the off season. How the bild every coaster again from the bottom up right after taking it apart. And I did not know this but I bet most of you did, that i then next few years they will be changing every little bit of wood on the Gemini. Just thought I would let you know!

The local cable access channel in my hometown did a show back in 1994 I think (it was right after the Raptor opened up). Anyway, as a part of this show there was a segment on what they do to the rides in the offseason. It was very interesting.

Wood is replaced on Mine Ride, Gemini, Blue Streak and Mean Streak every year.. this is nothing new..

I think the point he is making rob is that in few years all of the original wood on Gemini from 1978 will be replaced.

The re-lumbering project on Gemini is expected to take at least five years. This is not the typical board here, board there replacement and maintenance deal. This is a systematic full and total structural replacement in place, as it stands, as Dan indicates.
