CP in a semi

I drive an 18 wheeler for a living. I called CP during the off-season, and asked if they had room for semis if I came to visit. I have been there a million times, I just dont know where they park them. My question is, where do they park them, and how much do they charge for a 2-3 day stay? I live in NE Ohio, and am home every weekend. If parking doesnt cost a forthune, I would drive the truck oput there and stay they weekend, as the sleeper has a double bunk, toilet, TV/DVD satellite radio etc... etc... etc....

I'm not sure if this applies, but over-sized vehicles cost $14 to park. There is no overnight parking.

You said you called the park? What did they tell you?

That's awesome... I used to go on runs with my old man when school was out (10-15 years ago now). Some great times, just shootin' the breeze, watching the road go by. We saw some crazy stuff, too... Man, I miss him. I lost him to cancer 2 years ago...

[url][url]There is an area up front by the busses where your semi would go. They won't let you stay in it overnight though, it would have to be off the lot by 2 hours after park close each day.

My suggestion is to park it at Camper Village. The rates run anywhere from $50-70 per night, depending on the site type. Your parking toll will be reimbersed(sp?), you will always be within walking distance from the park, you'll get perks as a resort guest like early entry and pool access, and with a 2-night stay you can get a package for only about 80 bucks more that includes tickets and coupons.

You should check cedarpoint.com for more info.

If you need over night parking..find a walmart. They encourage people to park there over night (in rvs and stuff) to rest. I don't know how close one is to CP though.

There's always the truckstops down by the Turnpike on 250.

My high school marching band marched at CP once. We have a big semi for all our stuff. We just parked with the busses.

There is a Wal-Mart on 250 near Rt. 2. About 10-15 minutes from the park.

Well, there's about 200 people on the field in our fall competitive marching show. We have a ton of pit equipment and props that we need the semi for.

Realistically, we really only need a small truck for the batterie equipment and larger instruments if we were going to go to Cedar Point, but...my director thinks having extra room is important just in case someone wins a 20 ft tall teddy bear at CP.

Our marching band has 150 and we have to carry our instruments with us and they have a trailor for the percussion equipment. Good thing were number 1 in Michigan otherwise we might become discouraged. ;)

Our band has a custom schoolbus and 130 people including majorettes and the "MEPA State Champion Vermilion High School Color Guard". Yeah, we stress that. Really one of the only winning teams in Vermilion.

We have 120* in our Marching Band (and i'm Drum Major :D )
I'm gonna use my "powers" to try and get a trip to Cedar Point scheduled where we play. I've seen band there before, like the day we went on our annual trip to just ride the coasters.

*120 is about 15 color guard and 10 drum line. It'll be around 180 this year since we go to Florida and EVERYONE wants to join :P

You think Vermillion is bad? We haven't won a conference title in ANYTHING in the past 7 years except basketball. Brooklyn athletics is pretty dry.

Hmm.....it seems as if there are a lot of band people who are also Cedar Point junkies....coincidence? I think not :)

(I'm a music education major @ The University of Akron myself) :)
