although thats not quite a view from space.

Actually.. yes it is.. The Terraserver is a storage site of photo's. Originally used to showcase how much data Microsoft Servers could store.. It is a collection of sattilite photos's taken in the early and mid 90's from a set of sat's used for topography research.

They were orbiting from an average altitude of 128 miles above MSL. The database went public on June 24th, 1998.

How do I know?? My company did some of the processors on the sats.

ok, not trying to be a pain, but from what i see on terraserver site, these are aerial photographs from 20,000 to 40,000 feet depending on the dates.
the satelite images are not available at this time and were spoty in coverage in the past,so i took it as them being aerial photographs.

heres where i gathered this info on a past debate with a friend about these pics:

(look in the mission part of that page)
Ok.. you are correct.. those are the ariel's they are using now.. The original ones were sat photo's.. (I still have photo's of my house, my old Air Force Base and a few others, yes.. done on Kodak (tm) paper.. hehehe)..

They are Camper Village, as it appeared when the image was taken (in 1997, I think). A very cool site! Find your home or anything else, for that matter :)
Doesn't have where I live..Milly is not built yet....ha ha ha

I like the ones of the parks down at Disney World, you can see all the show buildings outside the perimiter of the park that most of the rides are in...Haunted Mansion is the most noticeable, it's harder to spot the buildings for Splash Mountain and Pirates.

But have you found your home? I have found everyplace that I have lived (including the Point :)
Yes actually, you have to look for your town and then center in on the street you live on, it was fairly easy for me since I know some pretty obvious landmarks that were visible from the satellite and the fact that
my subdivision follows a very symmetric layout. The picture of my town, however, was taken in 1992 so it's very outdated.
