It looks like CP purchesed a newer full size pumper, replacing what appeared to be a late 70's early 80's midsize pumper. Does CP own only one truck? Or is there another station somewhere on the property other then by Gemini? How many Firefighters are generally on duty during park hours? I'm sure the Firefighters at CP are viewed as "first responders" to any medium to large scale emergency, with the City of Sandusky FD as the primary force. Other then inspecting/filling Fire extinguishers, checking hydrents, alarm systems etc.. what other kind of duties is assigned to the CP Fire Department?
Yeah I saw that they have a new engine as well but i think they got it last year but it looks like a Ward-LaFrance which means it is probably from the late 80s early 90s. They still have there old pumper which they painted red as well over between Raptor and Blue Streak with the lightbar taken off I think they are only using that truck for maintnence duties. I believe CPFD also has a small squad and a van style ambulance they operate. I believe the firefighters respond on fire alarms at the resorts and car fires but I am sure SFD is responsible for the larger incidents. The firefighters are also EMTs and Paramedics so a majority of what they do are medical calls throughout the park on those little ambulance carts which are stationed by Peanuts Playground and their station next to Gemini. As far as how many firefighters they have I have no clue. Please someone correct me if anything I said is not factual.
I noticed too that the light bar was removed and the unit was painted red. When it was in service as a fire pumper it was painted yellow. However the reel hose on top is still intact and apears to be new. This makes me think the same as you, that it is possibly used for maintenance now, like lawn spraying.
I just stopped in today at the FD on Cedar point drive and they told me that CP only has 2 on staff at any given time. Every one of the firefighters with sandusky and CP are firefighter/emt they wont hire any other. CP FD responds to anything inside the gates as far as car fires and alarm pulls, sandusky FD responds to the dorms and anything else around that area. I am not sure if the man i spoke with was a line officer or not but he said CP usually runs 100-250 calls in the usual season. Now one thing i am not certain of is in the off season. Does cp fire stay there in case or does the city take over in the off season with anything inside the park. With buildings and construction going on im sure there are injuries or fire alarms during the winter.

I am not sure when it was painted, but its been red for as long as I remember (at least 8 or 9 years). Its now used by Park Services for cleaning.
As for how many is on staff at any given time, it's more then two. Call in a fire and at least 5 will show up (that is the least I have ever had respond).
But most of what you all have said is correct. They are all firefighter/EMT's and or Paramedics. As for the off-season, everyone is seasonal with the exception of management of course. So SFD will be making the trips to the point.
