It's called a joke in a thread that really has no meaning to begin with.
If the thread was worth really replying to, don't you think people would have given it some validity and not found the humor in the jokes?
eat. sleep. ride! - Coaster apparel and accessories!
Ride on, MrScott!
Baaazing!
But to be more on topic, you may have just gone on an off day, I have had the rides go down for mechanical when I was at the park in previous years so I know how you feel its a bummer.
At least you got to go to the park ;) I wont get to go until July when it will be really busy.
Ride On dudes
I have an idea, why don't some of you stop derailing threads trying to be cute?
I should probably cancel my account if that is the case ;)

Promoter of fog.
Alot has to do with the coasters getting use to the weather or just dirt in certin parts of the ride that make it go down.I know its been real hot and cold up there lately. If certin ones go down ride the others. I know the ones you said is not half of the coasters they have. Maverick is new so it will have breakdowns. They also have like a bunce of other rides too that are fun if coasters go down.
Oh, it must be the dirt. I'm "certin" you are right. What else could it be? Good thing they have a "bunce" of other rides!
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
It never really bothers me too much when I see rides down. I have been at the park many times when there are rides down, and I never have trouble finding something to do. There's always other stuff to ride, shows to see, the beach, restaurants, and challenge park. That's what I love about CP, there's such a variety of things to do.
Keep in mind that rides -- even tried and true oldies -- tend to break down more often in the beginning weeks of the season. (And some of those operating delays might not have been breakdowns at all.) Also, every one of those coasters ('cepting Maverick, of course) is a year older than it was last year. What that means is that you have a slowly aging fleet of rides that is more susceptible to breaking down.
Another point: the park's more recent rides are all highly sophisticated machines with complicated systems and cutting edge technology. That in itself is a recipe for increased dodginess. (Can you imagine Adam wanting a day-by-day report on Gemini's status if he had been around in 1978?)
Don't forget that Cedar Point simply has more big rides than it had a few years ago. If on its worst day, the park has, say, 25% of its star attractions out of operation, that's simply a bigger number when there are 17 coasters and a half dozen other major thrill rides, as opposed to a decade or so ago.
There. Is that exhaustive -- and noncute -- enough?
