I know that there are the NASA markers at Demon Drop, but I was poking around the NASA site today (thanks to a launch) and came across these videos. There is one on PT and one on Magnum, both talking about gravitational issues. They aren't very long, but they are interesting.

Anyway, thought some of you might enjoy.

I stared at the PT one for a while trying to determine if it was the one at CP or a different one (with same name) but you can easily see Corkscrew behind it when it starts to go up. My only question is: Does PT truly count as a free-fall ride since you are launched downward?

You actully probably get more free-fall experience because your falling faster.
Also, the next time I go to the Point I will be riding Power Tower for the first time (I know, I've never rode it before):) and I wanted to know what side was better to go on. I think I will choose red because you get to launh up, and free-fall.

Do them both. Honestly. I love the launch side because the lines are shorter, but the drop side is definitely more suspenseful (since you slowly rise to 240 feet or whatever).
And your scenario states a negative G experience, whereas a true freefall is a zero-G experience. They both cause similar stomach sensations but are different experiences. That's why I wonder if PT can be classified as a true freefall. Although I will admit that it is free-fall on the subsequent bounces.

Nothing beats the free-fall feeling of the Turbo Drop. I've only done the launch side once, but I'll be sure to try it again.
We'll miss you MrScott and Pete
Don't you get air time on the space launch because you blast up then fall back down?
(so that would like make it more worth it wouldn't it?)
someone should close this thread before I ask more questions:).

It's funny how the guy calls Power Tower a Roller Coaster, and tells people to go on it, but he doesnt say where...

Space Shot doesent provide much air time at least to me. Turbo Drop is the way to go.

101 on Magnum and counting...
Not being a "coaster kinda guy", he probably forgot more dialog than to state where he was at. Man, those were the days.
The Poster formerly known as "Dougster."
Watch the movie in the background ..it looks like the red/yellow tower curves as he's going up.
The space shot does provide a pretty good pop of airtime at the top, but it certainly doesn't last as long as the airtime on turbo drop.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Shot side provides some great airtime during testrides :)
The Drop side cannot be classified as a freefall. It is forced down. That's why if you hold a penny out on your hand, it will fly off (but please, don't try it. Pennies falling from 240 feet hurt when they hit you on the head.)
maxairaptor - That's just because they were using a fish-eye lense. It often causes distortion on the edges of the film due to its shape.

Watch this, at the end of the ride look at Power Tower and it will bend because the lens id fish-eye like JuggaLotus said.
