I also think alot of Ghost Riders money went into the elaborate themeing, the queue line "house" and the fact that it crosses grand Blvd. Thus raising construction costs. Though this is all just guesses. BUt does all Cal. rollercoaster have to adhere to earthquake codes, isn't the psyclone at SFMM a reverse copy of the real cyclone?
Also the BIGGEST to not about Ghost Rider is that its NOT a Cedar Fair design. Ghost Rider was in the plans BEFORE Cedar Fair bought the park!!!
