Couple of Questions

I always watch the Iron Dragon trains go up the lift and i noticed that sometimes the trains will go up really slow and some not so slow why do the trains go up so slow?

I also have been wondering, why is there a big "12E" painted on the DIsaster Transport building?

I have a sightly different take on Iron Dragon. When you ride, why does it go up the lift hill so slow, almost as if it is going to stop, and then it finally gets going. It's like that every time I ride it. That's the only scary part of the ride.
Look past the first lift to the second one. The 2 trains crest the hills at the same time.

The rumor is that "12E" is Dick Kinzel's shoe size.

Iron Dragon does that because the computers control the lifts. The train has to get over the second hill before the first one so that there is absolutely no way that they will collide! There is room there for 2 trains, but the first has to be right at the very tippy top, then the first lift will speed up again. One more thing: Dragon is really bumpy coming into the station, but that isn't the ride ops fault -- again, all controlled by the computer -- the shocks have to adjust their air pressure.

"12E" goes with the theme. Am I the only one who remembers the theme to this ride? Oh well, I guess you guys will find out soon enough (hint, hint). ;)

Well, you make it sound like that, I'm thinking along the lines of 12 years. which would lead us into 2002, the boardwalk project, and a new coaster. But what does the "E" mean?
No clue, really. Best guesses would be "Even" or "Erie".

But what do I know.

WHOO!
CP_bound: GOOD THINKING!!!! That hit me like a ton of bricks. That could be the possibility of what it means. 12 years from the time DT was built to the Erie or boardwalk project. "2E" is the time it will take to complete the boardwalk project. 2 years even or erie!? Rumor has it, that this project will be a two year phase. The ride has a futuristic theme to it which could clue in the future of the area that DT sits in.

Scratch that theory! It would have been cool to think that, but I think I cracked the code. I thought that the "E" stood for Erie before too, and I counted the letters of the alphabet up to 12, and guess what...IT'S "L"! Obviously it's meant to stand for Lake Erie.

Too bad, I thought I was onto something too. :(
i would have never guessed that...

Sometimes an E12 is just an E12!

Somebody at Cedar Point has way too much time on their hands to think of the 12E thing like that. :)

Of course, I'm not saying WE don't have too much time on our hands for actually trying to figure out what they meant anyway. Hehe.

O.K. then what does "2E" stand for on the other end of the warehouse?

maybe they forgot the "1"...

ride early, ride often!!!
You got me...
2E or not 2E...

Sorry, couldn't resist.
*Groan* Seriously, I think it has something to do with the number 13 -- when you get up to getting on the ride, at the top of the stairs, that's gate 13! Take a look next time you ride, though I'm not sure if the sign is still there or not.
