Could they....?

Could they have placed the queue under maXair? Maybe dig out a "basement", with enuogh head room for the floor to drop. Maybe have a steel grate floor with a thick clear plastic under it.

They could of even put in an air conditioning unit to cool the semi enclosed line. There would'nt be enough room for the full queue line, but I'm sure there would be a lot of room under the ride and plenty of room for a queue outside.

I think it would have worked out good. We don't have any underground rides, so why not an undergruond queue?

Is there any major construction on SR2, or the Ohio Turnpike? Or even on (SR?)250? I know Interstate 280 thru Toledo may cause some delays. Any other delays that someone may know of?

I bet they could... but why would they? It seems like a pointless waste of money. Sorry, didn't mean to sound like an ass there, what I am saying is why would they do that when they can just put the queue around it, like they did. Sure the queue being under it would be cook but it would probably be expensive and unpractical.

We'll miss you MrScott and Pete

For one it would flood like crazy. That's the main reason we don't see anything underground there. Two, it wouldn't justify the cost. And three, putting people in an enclosed space like that isn't really a great idea.

I'd rather see the money spent on other things.... like that big huge flying 500 foot 27 inversion coaster they've been rumoring about.

The cost factor wouldn't be that great I don't think. If it was planned out and buildt that way, how could it?

The added cost of digging a hole, putting up four walls, changing the floor, and putting in some stairs or a ramp? Come on! And the cost of running an air conditioner? Peanuts, they air condition some bathrooms.

Why would it flood? Don't quote me, but I'm sure I heard somewhere they have a sewer system thoughout the park.

It would have given Cedar Point the edge of "the one of a kind ride". Rather the a just flat that others already have. Even by there cheesy promo, I don't think Cedar Point is all that proud of it.

That's all, everyone have a great summer.

Be safe.

The reason is gravity. The gravitational pull of the earth causes liquids, like water, to flow downhill, not up. So by creating a trench, you are creating a low spot which is prime for collecting water. Odds are the trench will be below the level of the current sewer lines, which means you would also have to put in some extensive pumping system to remove water from the queue. In the end, it would be more trouble than it is worth.

Goodbye MrScott

John

Are you kidding me??

You HEARD there was some sort of sewer system throughout the park??

Oh, is THAT where everything goes when I flush the toilet??

And how do you not see the difference between, "digging a hole, putting up four walls, changing the floor, and putting in some stairs or a ramp. . .and the cost of running an air conditioner," and putting up rails. I THINK there is a difference, and having an "Underground Queue" would NOT make or break a ride.

"Oh dude, let's go to CP this year!! I hear they have a new ride."

"Yeah, where are the queues?!"

"On top of the ground."

"Lame! Let's not go."

Sorry, but you are ridiculous. So, that's the cause for ridicule.

Have you not noticed what surrounds Cedar Point on 3 sides?

The water table is not very far down. Digging a hole puts you that much closer (or in it) to it.

The water table on Point is extremely high. Or, have you not been there when it rains and various parts of the incredible above-ground midway gets flooded?

I don't think it would make or break a ride. I just simply think it would make it unique. The queue wouldn't be underground, it would be in the ground with the ride swing over the top of the up coming riders.

And sewer lines run much deeper then 8-10ft. If that was a factor, then raise the platfrom have the queue above ground but under the ride. So no hole, no walls, no A/C. Simply a unique ride entrance.

Thanks for your little comic, it was good.

"Oh dude, let's post a cheesy idea on point buzz"

"Yeah, that way everyone could release all of their bottled anger they have with their pitiful lives"

"Be careful Jeff could be watching"

"Opps sorry Jeff"
