Cottage or Breakers?

Currently we have a king room reserved at Breakers. When I made the reservation that was the room in my budget and I talked myself into we'll rarely be in the room so size doesn't matter. I also thought, I can upgrade if my fianances change. We have stayed at Sandcastle Suites with a balcony, and last year at Breakers with a balcony. I will be traveling with my 12 year old daughter. I have some extra cash now and went to see what a larger room at Breakers would cost . They only have king rooms left. We have traveled earlier in the season the past two years and neither property was close to sold out so I as not prepared for that. There are a few cottages left and wanted to gets some opinions. How do they compare to the traditional hotels? How far is the walk to the closest park entrance? Are they air conditioned? It looks like they have grills, do you need to bring your own charcoal? Thanks in advanced for your thoughts.

Shuttle Service is free and on demand at the cottages, along with all hotels and the marina.

There are multiple pick up locations and shuttle telephone boxes to order a shuttle throughout Lighthouse Point.

Famous daves if you want quantity over quality, Tomo Hibachi if you want a fun night dining experience.

You do need to bring your own charcoal and foil for the grills, and the closest entrance is a 10 minute walk from the cottages, and they are air conditioned. If you're traveling with more than 3 people, I would say cottages are your best bet if you don't mind a walk. If you're alright with sharing a (nice) king bed room in Breakers right in front of an entrance, I would do that. Hope this helped.

Who says you have to walk? Get in your car and drive to the parking lot of your choice if you'd rather.

We won't have a car. Arriving by train and taking a cab to the park.

Go Breakers, for sure, then. A lot less walking, and the amenities are all right there.

Yeah, definitely breakers. Eat at famous dave's, which is right outside of the marina entrance.

Famous Dave's is good, but if you've got a little extra, I'd definitely do Tomo Hibachi inside the Breakers lobby. It's a good time, and I love utilizing the space within the hotel

Personally I'd stay in Breakers. Tad more home comforts, more things closeby, less walk, and honestly I find the room layouts to be better.
