Corkscrew Suggestions

I have an 8 year old as well and we did Gatekeeper to try out inversions first, he loved it. It's sooo smooth and not very fast/intimidating. He hasn't even tried corkscrew yet due to the banging as he doesn't like Blue Streak for the same reason.

^^I'm not sure how the downtime is, and I know Intamin is currently a difficult company to work with, but I wouldn't be opposed to someday seeing something like a massive ZacSpin. And it wouldn't necessarily have to be in the area currently occupied by Corkscrew.

I had the opportunity to ride Insane at Grona Lund while my sister was abroad, and I thought it was awesome! Capacity certainly could be improved, which I'm sure would be the chief concern if CP were ever to install such a ride, but in terms of intensity, the ejector airtime is almost unmatched. Every moment of airtime (and there were quite a few) felt like Maverick's 1st camelback. Not sure how Green Lantern compares, but I'd love to see something like that at CP someday.

Also, I hate to change the topic, so I'll offer my two cents regarding the original question. Since I'm only at CP once or twice a year, I feel it would be more relevant to talk about Demon at my home park (SFGAm). It is very similar to Corkscrew in terms of pain, if not worse. A certain 7 year old member of my family came off the ride crying his first time, but his second time we had him keep his head full forward during the corkscrews, which are the only areas of real concern on both rides, and he loved it. Some kids that age might not have the height or the strength to be able to do that, but have her give it a try.
