Corkscrew paint job

Thought I would just say that the first turn on Corkscrew has a brand new coat of paint and looks great. Thanks to the park for helping to revitalize a classic ride. Question is what ride's next?

Magnum I hope.
Yay, I could not believe that they painted 'Screw. I may have spent awhile sweeping up all the paint chips that were left, but it was worth it :). I still think we should open bets as to if they are actually going to paint the whole thing or just that part coming out of the station...hmmmm.

They did a test patch on Magnum midway through the season at the base of the lift...check it out next time you're there. I must say it is definitely not red red, however; probably because TTD is the Big Red thing over in that area now. No matter, the track will definitely look very hott...we can just hope they show the supports some love too!

Finally some new paint on the point.

Hello? Have you seen wildcat recently? Mantis?

It's not war, famine, or pestilence; it's only downtime.

I've seen some new paint on Mantis... I wonder why they left it unfinished in places?

I think they should paint CS some different way, but still use the same colors. Such as, the track is red, the supports blue, and the trains red white and blue.

Millennium Force is not scheduled to be re-painted for next year, magnum is..

Heh, I saw that first turn shining, but I didn't think it was recently painted. I thought I just missed it earlier in the year.

Chris, everything I say is a lie. Except that. And that. And that and that and that and that and that. And that.

My coasterbud Catherine and I both noticed the new paint on Corkscrew, and I certainly hope they ARE painting the entire thing. Corkscrew was flying this weekend! We got lots of air on it and it surprised the heck out of us. Corkscrew is no longer a walk-by for me anymore after this season.

I haven't walked by it since someone on this site gave the recommendation of the back seat. Since I tried it this one is a definate reride every time! I love being whipped over the first hill. Being able to see rest of the train ahead of you adds to the thrill through the screw. Wasn't Corkscrew painted in 92 or 93? It seems to be holding up nicely.

Blue people fly sideways when it rains....
ALthough MF may be fading, I would pay more attention to repainting Magnum and finishing Mantis and Corkscrew.

Race For The Sky!
Mr. Halo,

I wondered the same thing, but I was there toward the beginning of the year. Has anyone noticed if they did ever in fact finish the paint job on Mantis? When I was there, a number of the supports that were only painted half way up.

Life is too short...go ride a coaster!!

i believe all the supports were painted cause i was there in august
When I went to the point, Mantis was showing off its new paint...It looks almost like new. As for Corkscrew, it does look good (besides the part where it kills your neck and almost gives you wiplash). MF wont be focused on, maybe in 2005, but not next year. Magnum is in Desperate need of paint, the red is turning kind of a faded off-red, pink thing. Of course, my most recent ride was in the dark.

The paint job on WildCat makes it look SO much more new, I hated the white and forest green. I am so happy that it was re-painted.

Wicked Twister looks alright...The yellow is - well, yellow. It isnt as nice and bright as I remembered it from my visits, but it is still looking good. (I could see the supports being re-painted).

I think that Demon Drop is in need of paint. Although, that may not be the greatest, biggest ride there, it would still look better with a nice new paint job.
