I am hearing that Corckscrew had a collision this past Sunday...anyone know about that?
Yes, the red train ran into the white train Sunday night. We were in line ready to board when they said we would have to wait a moment while they removed the white train from the track. The white train was sitting at the end of the course waiting to be moved off when the red train was sent out and then didn't stop in time and ran right into the back of the white train - made quite a loud noise. Just before this happened a supervisor (or just older worker) had just left for the night and told the crew "good luck"! Luckily no one was on either train when it happened but I found it strange that the systems would even allow the trains to hit one another. Monday morning the trains where still "attached" to each other but later the white train was removed and when we left the park at 3pm yesterday the red train was still in the exact spot where it collided.
And, back on topic I must say that corkscrew is a really good starter coaster for going upside down. Not too tall and scary so it was good for our group of 7 and 8 year olds before trying out something more intense.
^^That's an odd scenario. Just to clarify positioning was the White Train right before the transfer table stopped or no? That then tells me that the safety brakes either were not set prior to transfer or were released. Given the transfer enable switch does let the ride act a bit more manual, I could see it happening, as the transfer table has full control of that brake run.

I don't know the transfer procedures for Corkscrew, but from the sounds of it, I'm guessing someone got fired. Definitely would like to understand more what exactly happened.
I thought I saw the blue train running on Sunday afternoon (this weekend). I noticed it had no logo on the front of it. Did they resurrect that one from storage since the other two got banged up or had they put all three trains on this year? I am honestly not sure if they've been putting the logos on the "hood" of the Corkscrew trains recently anyway.

This is the year off for the blue train. It is not on the track.
If the ride had this type of collision, I would assume it was likely in manual mode. If they were removing the white train, my guess is the red train was sent out with the intention to either be stopped on the lift or the very first set of safety brakes just after the corkscrews.
Last week while in line for Dragster, I noticed the red train was stopped on that first set of safeties, and a ride host had come out to talk to the guests onboard. I hadn't seen a train stop there since the days of three train operation.

It was dark out so I couldn't tell exactly where it was positioned.
Wow. Checked this topic because it has been down the last 2 days. Yikes.
CP Coaster Top 10: 1. Steel Vengeance (40 rides to date) 2. Top Thrill Dragster (191 launches to date, 4 rollbacks) 3. Magnum XL 200 4. Millennium Force 5. Maverick 6. Raptor 7. GateKeeper 8. Valravn 9. Rougarou 10. Gemini
Not that I want to see Corkscrew go, but if they do remove it, I hope they do what Alton Towers did. That would be awesome.

I have been to the park twelve times this summer. Out of the twelve there was only one day that I didn't ride TTD because it was down all day. Yesterday after waiting in the FL line for about 20min we had to disembark the train due to mechanical. We left and came back and got two rides back to back. It's kind of luck of the draw with Dragster.
It's been the "year off" for the blue train for the past 4-5 years. I think it's gone to the great big transfer track in the sky.
Or, you know, the spare parts bin.
Red is running, white is still missing a car. Interestingly enough, the red car is completely missing the "Corkscrew" logo on the front car.
CP Top 5: 1) Steel Vengeance 2) Maverick 3) Magnum 4) Raptor 5) Millennium
I don't have any, but it is what I saw yesterday.
