I was curious as to if they will allow a medium sized cooler in the park, but just enough so we can store in the lockers by the main gate? Thanks!
Guests with baskets, coolers and personal picnic items or belongings MUST leave those items in the public shelter areas located just outside the main entrance gates or in their vehicle.

Or bring a baby with you and they'll allow you to bring in a small cooler for there needs. (somehow we end up having space in there for snacks and drinks though.)

Maybe I'm being an idiot, but does that mean lockers outside the front gate? I am having a hard time remembering if there are or not..
No, there are no lockers outside the gates, you'd have to leave it in the picnic shelters.
Here's where that information came from.

When I read your first post, it sounded very close to a sign I saw somewhere, then I slapped myself, because it is on a sign somewhere.
I think they allow backpacks in, so I guess if you needed to bring snacks or water in, you could do that.

Just be careful because they have searched my backpack before and asked me if I was bringin food. They always have however let me bring a bottle of water. On those extremely hot days (usually over 90 degrees) some food stands would even refill my waterbottle with ice for me (although this usually works better if I buy Cedar Point's souvenior sipper).

It's perfectly fine to bring in water, but we can usually tell when people are trying to sneak in food and other junk. Best advice is to just not try it. I've never heard of anyone's stuff getting stolen from the picnic shelters, so I'd say you'll be ok with leaving it out there while you're in the park.
And then one day you find ten years have got behind you
No one told you when to run, you missed the starting gun
Yeah ull have to go to the picinic places..outside of the park..well what I used to do was leave the food and water and whatnot, in the car and come out and eat it at like 1, to save money..because the price for food in the park is outrageous so everytime i went back to the car..it was always melted, gushy, and just disgusting after sitting out there..and anyways when you try to eat in the parking lot ( which i recommend you dont do) seagulls always end up trying to peck at your food..so just go to a pavillion and eat is what I would do at like mid-day. But if your thinking of leaving it in your car..I wouldnt try that. Have a nice evening!

My family had one or two of our coolers stolen one year. (We had a lot of coolers, there were about 25 of us that went to the park). Ever since we have been locking our coolers to the picnic tables with a long cable and a pad lock.
Our group brought a fairly small backpack the other day, and it was big enough to hold 5 granola bars, 5 packs of crackers, some gushers and rice crispie treats, our towels and our swimsuits for the waterpark.
We ate the food in the dark corner where you wait for a table at Macaroni's. They didn't seem to care.
So, if you want to do that, it worked for us.
We usually bring our electric cooler, that runs all night the night before we leave, then it plugs into the car to the lighter outlet. When we get to the park it gets unplugged and plugged into a car battery in the back rigged with one of the outlets. The cooler usually lasts all day and nothing is warm or melted. (unless you have the cooler on warm and not cool, which I don't wish to talk about ;) )
