If you check out the main midway cam right now...

The ice and snow has weighed the skyride cable down quite a bit.
what you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard.
Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.
I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul.
Did you see the other two cams? They are so covered in ice, GoodTime Theater cam looks like it is on fire and Planet Snoopy cam is just a blurr of black, white, and grey tones.
Thirteen years in rides at PKD, then KD in Doswell, VA on multiple rides and everything from Ride Host to Area Supervisor. Now, I am the Department Supervisor of Park Services and proud of it with the best guys in the industry... and the occasional Rides shift to help out.
That's the communication cable between the two stations. It doesn't make sense that the ice would weigh it down like that because it is not on a counter weight. Either something broke or they are working on it and purposely lowered it like that.
I'd rather be in my boat with a drink on the rocks,
than in the drink with a boat on the rocks.
^ I was just about to post that it wasn't the cabin's cable, but I didn't know that it was the communication cable. Thanks for the clarification, Pete.
Just out of curiousity, is the Main Midway cam inside? It never seems to be affected by weather, but the other two have been iced over several times this winter.
Nick
Its under an awning I'm pretty sure... and judging by how low that line is I'm going to assume it may have broke somewhere down the line, but who knows it could be anything.

I noticed the cable myself this morning. I wish we could see the other station from the Good Time cam... it may tell us more.

The camera is an outer big camera shape box. The actual camera is not that big, from what I saw during the two seasons it has been their.
The midway cam is under the roof of Sky Ride's station and generally the wind doesn't go that way.

I'd be worried if the snow and ice really made the sky ride cable sag.

Indy's back and just in time.
It's either broken or being worked on. The main cable doesn't even sag very much when it has cabins going over it.

Someone posted a comment on the blog asking about the cable, and they said it wasn't the Sky Ride cable. It's just a data cable because they're working on the other station.
Looking now, in this Ohio Blizzard of '08, you can't see a thing!

And we've got blue skies. Cold (25) but clear. Good news is that are supposed to be in the 40's this week.
I heard Cleveland's supposed to be getting 10-20" today.

If you click the "go to the address" button to the right of the URL, it will work. Webshots doesn't allow direct linking, but that's a workaround.
Thanks Walt.
Josh - WoW....I would say it sucks to be you guys, be we're over 100 inches for the year. First time ever, 25 inches in each of Dec, Jan and Feb. So we've been digging a lot ourselves. But its all melting now, so we'll be good.
