Contacts?

I was just wondering if all the rides are ok to wear contacts on?

Thanks

There is no way they can stop you really. I have gas permeable hard contacts, and I have never lost one. Your responsible for them.

i ONLY wear my contacts to amusement parks, and haven't had a issue with them yet...
knock on wood.

bring re-wetting drops, and use them OFTEN, like after every coaster. Otherwise you'll be dealing with extreme dryness/discomfort and the chance of losing one.

Never thought of that. I hate riding a ride and I can't see anything around me. I also don't want to pay no $2 again for a flemsy strap for my glasses for a ride on TTD.

I refuse to ride any coaster without some sort of eyewear on- especially at Cedar Point where there seems to be more dust, bugs, and various other particles floating around than any other park I've been to.

If I'm wearing my contacts, I wear my sunglasses on the coasters, even at night.

For dragster, at the entrance, my wife had her glasses in her pocket already and i didnt. I was forced to pay $2 for that stupid strap. I was not happy. I could put my glasses in my pocket last year during th 5 days we went to the point. Just another way for them to make money was my thought.

It all turned out good though, the wife loves the strap (says she can keep her eyes open during the rides better) and we have a cheap souviner.

I have Lost a Contact on MF. I Lost it in augest of 2000. It was the weirdest thing i felt something move on my eye and then i could not see anything anymore. They were soft lenses and i had just started to wear them.
I've never had a problem even with them drying out. I did notice riding front row on TTD and MF my eyes tear a lot more, maybe that helps them.

Do they still sell the eyeglass straps at the entrance of TTD to people with glasses? If they are, that would be much easier to me than going out to buy one even though they are probably cheaper anywhere else. Besides, what's a couple dollars?

I know this sounds weird, but I actually bought a pair of sports glasses, called Rec Specs, to wear on coasters and at Soak City. They are constructed like the ones basketball players wear. They have a fully adjustable strap, and no side frames at all. They hug my head and don't move. I tested them on the Magnum on opening day, and they were perfect! No more worrying about my glasses flying off. Plus, they are transitions lenses, which get dark in the sun, and light indoors or at night. I will also be able to wear them in the wave pool, and on the larger tube rides at Soak City. I can also wear them anywhere there is a risk of damaging, or losing my regular glasses, as the lenses are an almost unbreakable polycarbonate. They were a good investment, in my opinion.
