Construction Q

After looking at some of the HUGE supports yesterday at the park I started to think WHERE are they going to bring the parts into the park. With MF they just drove the supports down Perimeter Road right to the site. Even the huge "boxes" they put together in the soak city lot for the lift were just brought around the park. If they preassemble any supports for D where are they going to bring them in the park at? Between the Gemini station and P&D? I think the rode that goes under Magnum has too low of a clearance to bring any BIG support pieces through unless they assemble supports in the Breakers parking lot and bring the track through the park by the John Deere display and Magnum's extended queue is.

I came to Soak City in the morning yesterday and I didnt see any boxes in the parking lot.

There would be plenty of room to bring track and what not through the gate beside the john deere display, and if there wasnt then they would just take out that fence, after the park closes for the season of coarse.
coasterfreak13,

Dan was referring to the large box trusses that were preassembled in the Soak City lot for MF's lift hill in the fall of '99.

Interesting question Dan. It will be neat to see how CP deals with existing physical obstacles in the construction of Code Name: Dragster.

Their is a large path under Gemini that goes out to the road they could bring it in their.
Hey Rich who said it was the code name. ;)

Assuming they are going to do some pre-assembly in the parking lot, it seems like they only place they could bring it in would be near the John Deere exhibit. Even then, doesn't the road that leads to Breakers have to pass under Maggie? That would create some low clearance problems unless they take it past Sandcastle and down the path around Magnum. There is also a maintenence gate between MS and WWL, but that would be a long way to take it.

Who finally met the infamous Magnum Dan!

Or they could put it together in the Breakers lot.

I know I'm goin' out on a limb here, but... What about positioning a large crane on the road in between the parking lot and the Magnum Queue. The supports and even track could be hoisted up over the lot, then the crane could rotate them over the Magnum queue, and set them down on the midway by Area 51. From there, they could be manipulated by more equipment inside the park to their final resting places.

Just an idea. :)

I doubt that they'll pre-assemble anything this time. The pieces are too big and the structure too wide. Trucking it in next to the John Deer display would be easy enough. Of course, they can come in behind Gemini by P&D as well.

They could always plow through Mean Streak's first hill. It would finally get rid of those awful trim brakes at last.

On a more serious note, I was thinking about what FCR said, and it seemed to make some sense. Its just about as good as some other ideas. In the end, I think we all know the solution. Helicopters! ;)

Maybe... they'll knock out the bathrooms.
Noooo! That's the only place to pee in that part of the park!

The closest I'll ever get to riding a B&M Flyer is looking down while on Raptor... :(

But then they replace them with larger bathrooms to accomadate the crowds...

Perhaps, but probably not.

how about using a crane to lift everything over the existing obstacles...
