Construction Diary

I was wondering how often they plan on updating the construction diary.  There hasn't been an update since 11/20 (the first one) and no new pics.

I seem to remember with MF that the updates came pretty slow for a while.  I mean, pouring footers isn't the most exciting thing.  Once they go vertical, I think we'll see more updates.

I don't think there will be tons of updates throughout the entire process because of the simpleness of the track, you know what I mean?  But it will be cool to hear about all the electrical systems and launching power being put in now.  Can't wait for some track to go in though.

Well the problem has been thats its been too wet to do anything.  The weather has been warm but it has been wet.  Unlike the MF construction where it was unseasonably warm and dry at the same time.  Heck Jeff and I have pictures walking around the park in Decemeber in t-shirts, and if I remember right they even ran a cycle on the Corkscrew.

I would love to see any of CPs coasters running in the winter.  I would love to see more off season pics if anyone has any...hint...hint...hint.  I thought they took all the coaster trains off the tracks in the off season.

MiLLeNNiuMRiDeR, they do remove all the coaster trains, strip them down, replace most, if not all of the moving parts, and put them back together again.

But in the case of the Mine Ride, on the (I Believe) third Halloweekend, the MR was down to just two trains. But on closing weekend, those missing trains were put back onto its transfer track. So is it safe to say that after a train is tore down and then re-built, that it is put back on the transfer of the corresponding coaster? I never believed that they put ALL of them back on in April. But rather put them back on as the work is completed on each individual train.

When CP is closed down for the winter, is it really possible to just walk around the park for free??

Well, It helps when you know the right people! ;)

Anyway, besides knowing the right people, it all depends on, "what," is going on the the park. This year since they are making a major addition to the park, you can't get far without being stopped by security. But, in years where nothing major is happening in the park, it is easy to get in and no one stops in the park to question you. Take last year when Lighthouse Point was going in. You could drive in the park at the various opens. There were certain spots where you couldn't get but, it varies from year to year!
